Does anybody think the contact on smart’s hand had any effect on the shot? The ball was already gone. I would’ve liked the free throws but I don’t think that should be a foul.

Yeah, it affects the follow through...

Idk, I’d have to see it again, but my recollection is that when the ball left his hand Doncic had not touched him yet. Any contact after that might have affected his arm motion, but since the ball is gone (I think, a few feet gone) no way for that to affect its flight.

Knew they would lose this game as the second half played out.
That fat slug Luka owns us

He has such a punchable face.

The refs baby him too. Basically can't play regular defense

Wasn't there a call last week against Brooklyn where someone high fived a Celtic and Nash challenged and lost?

  • Let's Go Celtics!
And we should've played Al in the post a lot more. Mavs are small and we didn't take advantage of it.
Every time he got it we scored or got a foul (or both).

Yup, but he only posted up 4 times? That's nuts. We could've posted up Tatum and Smart more too. I didn't like our offensive strategy at all today.

I wish Tatum got some of that treatment.

Hate to pick on the guy, but PP needs to be borderline elite in 3pt shooting to be worth playing.
40% tonight and 37% on the season not borderline elite? He was shooting 42% from deep in Feb

Pritchard Scored 8 and I’m pretty sure he was responsible for giving up that amount in the 4th quarter alone
That's probably why he's a team-high +9, right?

Oh wait, that doesn't make any sense.

He’s clearly a defensive liability out there. If you can’t see that, I don’t know what to tell you.
Sure, but his elite shooting clearly opened up our offence, hence why we were better with him on the court than off tonight.

If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

He was 2-6 in the fourth Q

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I tend not to like it. I still think Ime's offence is rudimentary. Just gets bailed out by individual excellence

Such a ridiculous explanation. They REGULARLY calls those fouls in practice in the game, but not on the review  ::)

Then there looks to be contact at the end. God, such a joke NBA officiating is.

If they wanna say the high five after the release isnt a foul im okay with that i guess even though it doesnt make sense because contact anywhere else on the body after the release is a foul.

But what im definitely not okay with is that 9 times out of 10 it is called a foul and we've even seen that reviewed and still called a foul numerous times but with 6 seconds left they are gonna overturn that. And the cherry on top is jumping it at half court instead of the free throw line at the basket where the shot was attempted. Just a terrible performance by the refs all game LOL
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

He also had two consecutive open 3s in each corner (I think with <4mins left), and missed them both. One of those goes in, it's a different game.

Massive choke job against a doomed, overachieving Mavs team.

Need more mental toughness despite the trash corporate mafia cheat job at the end

Overachieving mavs team? Maybe. Unfortunately they are a better team than the Celtics and beat us every time we play them..and unfortunately luka>Tatum

And 2-5 from three over the course of the game, a game in which we shot 25% from three or something atrocious.

If you want to argue it's robbing Peter to pay Paul then go ahead, but his +/- is pretty indicative of how much better our offence functioned with him on the court.

I wouldn't go that far. They're hot, and the Celtics missed a lot of open shots.

Never in my life have I heard of the "you're allowed to give the opponent a high five and it's not a foul" call before. New one on me. Hit the hand, it's a foul. That's what I thought.

I have literally seen that called a foul thousands of times in my years watching basketball.

Is that a new rule?

Or is it a foul and Doncic just got the superstar call?

Luka definitely has a better shooting team around him. That was ultimately the difference today - the other guys made us pay when we doubled Luka, but our guys couldn't do the same when they doubled Tatum.
