I hope he can actually shoot. Shooters who can’t shoot (like Carsen Edwards or Nesmith) drive me crazy.
Stauskas has shown he can shoot the 3 at a very good level in the NBA, he is just terrible at everything else and isn't an uber elite shooter so he was out of the league for 3 years.  He should be able to hit shots for Boston, but he shouldn't get any playing time unless the team is down 3 and needs to hit a shot.

Good assessment. The optimist in me hopes he has learned a few tricks to be more effective in other areas.

Staying healthy is obviously a prority for Romeo - but he did improve his 3P shooting percentage to 35% this year (Staukas career avg is just a hair above) - while Nesmith dropped to 24%.   I was encouraged by his shooting improvement while playing very good defense in our system.   Too early to label him a bust given he missed so much time.

His TS% was 69.4% in the G-League this year, with an assist percentage near 20.  He was doing more than simply knocking down 3s, although he did that very well.   That said, I don't expect him to do anything of note this year for the C's, because guys you find out of the G-League in March usually don't do much.  But sometimes after a summer learning a new team they provide help in year 2, and that's what I'm hoping for.

I don't think he'll play but it would be nice to have someone come in when the offense bogs down and hit a couple of threes and spread the floor out.

"In his 14 games in the G-League, Stauskas averaged 26.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists shooting 51.4 percent and 46.6 percent from three on 8.4 attempts per game."

Saw this last night and don't know the backstory

Someone was watching the Kings broadcast with closed captioning on and when the commentator referred to "Nik Stauskas" somehow the CC spit out "Sauce Castillo". Viewer took a screenshot and the rest was history. I think their fans milked it pretty hard after that.

It's one of my favorite NBA nicknames.  Catchy and funny.  Too bad he hasn't had much of a career to go with the great nickname.

Romeo is garbage..still hasn’t played with Spurs yet..injured again, shocking…when will ppl realize he a bust

You made similar comments about Rob Williams so your opinion on Romeo carries no weight with me.

I was perhaps Rob’s biggest advocate starting with the night he was drafted on the draft thread here, and I also really liked the Romeo pick at #14. But I’m afraid I generally share Birdman’s sentiments.

I have no expectations but I’m pleased with this signing. The team needs shooting and to get a sniper for free in March for this season and next who is in his 20’s, was a former top 10 pick, and is lighting up the G league in multiple categories is about all you can ask for.

Think you're behind me on Timelord.  Don't recall anyone in the draft thread besides myself begging Ainge to trade up for him when he started falling.

Correct, I was streaming the draft (I stream everything) and don’t think I was online here until the pick was made. I reassured Roy Hobbs that it was a fantastic pick in the thread and continued defending TL when some folks concluded he was a drug addict because he overslept. My oh my how things have changed.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
He is in his prime ready to shine. He will have the looks and I think he will hit them. Brad is looking and that is good to see. I am excited to watch his stroke. It looked good in the past.
