Some serious nitpicking there. Two games ago every bench player looked like an All-Star during garbage time.

Don’t know about you, but I don’t have confidence in any of those guys. Hauser, Thomas, Kornet, and the two new wings they just added are G-league players. Nesmith and Pritchard are still not ready. That’s a lot of roster spots for guys you can’t count on.

Wish they could pick up a vet buyout guy to add to the rotation, but not counting on it. In fairness I count 8 guys we can count on: the Js, Smart, Rob, Al, DWhite, Grant, and Theis. Payton and Nesmith are kind of eh at 9 and 10.

I honestly believe Nesmith is going to make a Grant/Rob-like jump next year. Fingers crossed.

Sure, but there were other big men out there with real NBA experience and skilld, to along with height.

No it's not. In this game PP looked okay during non-garbage time. Thomas played really well in garbage time the last few times he has been out there. Nesmith played well tonight and his shot is starting to drop. Theis is a grizzled, proven playoff rotation vet.

You don't need much more than a 7-8 man rotation come the playoffs. They have 8 and if either Nesmith or Pritchard step up, they have 9.

The rest don't matter come playoff time. And Brad sacrificed the bench this year to have his top 7-8 next year with the ability to add some bench depth this summer through trading Horford, trading someone into a TPE, free agency and player development.

Kornet is 7'-2", can make 3's and doesn't suck on defense. Like a lot of end of bench guys, he's  got a couple of NBA level skills and the hope would be he can develop enough to contribute regularly to a team at some point.

Ime's rotation is set with Nesmith the odd man out.  Everyone from Nesmith on down is a developmental player - Kornet included. But I think the main reason he was elevated from Maine was he's a warm body who Brad is familiar with.

That means the C's may very likely have to face the 76ers or Bucks but it's inevitable. Any of the 76ers, Bucks, or Nets will be difficult foes.
