Always use to laugh when people brought these types of things up believing that it was always a reach. Then Kyrie happened and now I honestly don’t know what to believe with the ASG.

Kudos to JT and the former Cs doing hard court press though at these types of events. That’s what your star players are supposed to do in this new age.

I’d be willing to let go Williams III/Smart/picks for him. I think Minnesota is a little bit behind his trajectory in terms of timeframe to compete. They need a few more years now in my estimation. Mommy isn’t letting him go for a kings ransom.

Be quite a change in team identity. We might score a lot - and would have to because we’d be middle of the pack at best on D.

This is a good point. We are currently the league leaders in switching on screens on defense. We can't do that with KAT. We'd need to do drop coverage with him and hope that somehow he can become significantly better in that area with better defenders around him.

Anyone on here that is a big KAT fan tell me about his conditioning. He looks like he could be in better condition but I don't see many T-Wolves games...

What would the Cs trade MIN for KAT? Our asset pool is lousy by comparison to other franchises.

Lol. Players like Nikola Jokic have demonstrated that it is possible to play drop coverage, not be an elite defender, and still be an anchor a top 5 defense in the NBA.

Team defensive scheme wins championships. I also still think KAT has untapped potential on that side of the court.

Good enough for me.

Think it's all sorted, TWolves should trade KAT for Smart and Timelord.

I'd only trade Timelord and Smart for a KG-like talent. KAT is nowhere near that. Sixers arguably got worse for trading their pieces that made them successful. Celtics are hitting their cylinders with Smart and Rob. I wouldn't want to mess with that chemistry.

Because we've settled the matter on CelticsStrong, it's a good idea. Done deal.

Edit: (Wishful thinking of course  :P - tongue in cheek)

Acquiring KAT would be amazing. Having Brown as your 3rd best player makes this team a contender imo.

Actually, if it came down to it, I would still do the trade if it meant Brown+pick+filler for KAT+starting (non-allstar) level point guard in a multi-team trade. (A point guard like idk, Brunson? Rozier? Dinwiddie? Guys who have the talent to start but aren’t at the level of ‘fringe allstar snub’ the way Brown is)

So for example, we could have a line up of Rozier/Smart/Tatum/KAT/TL

or alternatively, xx/Brown/Tatum/KAT/xx

Both are great lineups imo with the first one being more defensively versatile and the second one being more top heavy, ala BKN.

"trading pieces that made them sucecssful" you mean for Jimmy Butler?

Dime is worth more than two nickels in the NBA though, almost always.

This package seems quite favorable to the Celtics.

Also, Derrick White is a very good fixture to have in our starting lineup for ball handling duties until we find a more formidable PG.
