Chris Mannix speaking the truth in the postgame

What's he saying?
He's ticked about the lack of energy and thinks this loss could really hurt the C's in the standings at the end of the season. He said it brought back PTSD from the Minny game and other debacles from earlier in the year.

He also just said Marvin Bagley was in the witness protection program in Sacto because he stinks so much. And he feels like he's in the Twilight Zone the way Scal and Perk are defending the C's and pumping up the Pistons

Pretty hilarious rant actually lol

White wasn’t very good this game either. 3-10 from the field is not going to cut it.
hasn't shot well since his first game here.  other than that steal at the end, did he really do anything all that good?  not really.
3 steals, 2 blocks, 6 assists = not really anything all that good?

In 36 mins? Fine, but hardly worth the price of admission -- especially with single digit points and poor shooting.

I like White's energy, but I don't get the crush Cs fans have with the guy. Is it just cause we overpaid? Wishful thinking, so we don't have to admit Brad might be clueless as a GM (and will likely be coaching college again by the 2023-24 season)?

Honestly Mannix is a little out of line. The pistons are the worst team in the league but they’re an NBA team with lottery picks and real players. They have wins over Toronto, Miami, Milwaukee and Cleveland this season. They played incredibly well in this game. Celtics lost! On a back to back! Minus two starters! Right before the break! They had a chance to win, coulda played better, didn’t go their way! Not remotely as p---ed about this game as some of the other debacles this season.

These games before the AllStar break are always weird. I said it before the game and it's just a fact. We still had a 9 game win streak and the total beat down last night. I wasn't happy with how we played this one but it's only one game!

Nice excuse list.

Mannix is playing his role properly. Legit teams find a way to win games like this when you're 2/3 of the way through the season, even if the other team whoops you physically like tonite.

He moves the ball, takes charges, gets steals, helps the offense gel, guards multiple positions, doesn’t walk the dang ball up the floor. Celtics fans like him because he’s a lot like Smart. He’s also played only a handful of games in Boston and already fits like a glove.

Richardson was not a great asset. Neither was Langford. Neither are the picks. Why are we still litigating this? White makes the team better and will make the team better.

this is where I'm at.  for me, he'll always be weighed against what we gave up to get him.  tonight, I have little doubt we'd have gotten better offense out of JRich and good D out of Romeo as well.

he seems like an ok player, moves the ball on offense which is a welcome change but as a replacement starter for Smart, he didn't fill those shoes.  someone else mentioned he seems to be better as the secondary ball handler and that seemed pretty accurate at least for tonight

Celtics have turned their season around over the last 15 or so games. This loss doesn’t change that.

Not broken-hearted over this.  Sometimes teams outplay you.  That’s much easier to accept when it is the exception rather than the norm.

Detroit shot the lights out.  Tip of the cap to them.

Ugly game but the Pistons had some world class luck at the end and because we let them hang around the luck put them over the top.

1) Grant get the lucky bounce on the 3
2) Bey’s prayer with 3 seconds on shot clock
3) Cade is stripped of the ball, goes right to Stewart

Argh.

Pistons not only played well, they handled it well.  Played cool under pressure other than the in-bound steal. Came back from 8 down when it looked like C's were going to close the door.  Didn't get over-excited, just kept playing hard.

This 100%.  Pistons acted / played like the team that is fighting to climb the standings and position themselves for a run.  They shot well, didn't give us many easy shots.  Tip the hat to them.

I don't know what our end of games / clutch stats are, but I don't remember a time where we win in these situations.

The Tatum iso offense down the stretch was awful.  Amazing how we get into new habits, but then run right back to them.  It is like we forgot these last 9 games.  Bad loss, no way around it, no ifs ands or butts.

Knives back out?

In seriousness this is a painful loss, SEGABABA or no...losing to a team with 12 wins shouldn't happen. Consequence of having too short a rotation and not being able to spread the load on SEGABABAs. These losses are the ones that are really hard to take.

at least we still have the 49 point clobbering of the 76'ers to look back at.

Yep. If i were to hazard a guess I'd bet the C's might have done some celebrating after that win and it bled into today. They certainly looked hungover

TPs to all for the Sixers beatdown despite the results tonight

Knives back out?

My knife's been out for the White and Theis trades from the start. Liked the team better before the deadline, save for Schroder -- who needed outta here to hunt shots somewhere else (just trade him for a 2nd round pick... it's not complicated).

I didn't like Brad's deadline at all -- gave him a "D". He opened the kimono to his inexperience. I think the Cs took a long-term step back, and I'm disappointed.
