Absolutely no more slander of Smart on this blog. As soon as he's out a full game, we see what the offense devolves back into and what kind of lackluster focus and energy we play with.

But..... we have DERRICK WHITE!!!!!

Hate this loss but still go into the break as the 6-seed, a game behind Philly, and with some good rest for Smart and Timelord coming back. Stings but no need to overreact to this one.

I’m with you on this. Gotta stay positive. It’s still a long ways to go.

I’m interested to see how they look after the all-star break. Bad timing for it imo. Fool me once…

Still not completely bought in yet, except on defense.

Disappointing, obviously.

Tatum could've gotten something better there at the end.
This loss is on Tatum.  Turnovers, ISO,   …….

He definitely set the pace tonight. Hard for a team to play fast and coherently when your top player is sleepwalking his way through the game. It throws tbe whole timing off.

White wasn’t very good this game either. 3-10 from the field is not going to cut it.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yup. This why we need Smart.

Today's game is a perfect example of what Smart called out during the earlier games in the season.

Over-reliance on ISO ball at the end of the game.

I thought we'd clamp down on defense in the 4th and win.  And we were doing that up until about 4:30 left in the game.  It all fell apart when we started playing slow and allowing Tatum to iso every possession.  We deserved to lose.

Bringing the ball at a snail's pace was excruciating.

Pistons not only played well, they handled it well.  Played cool under pressure other than the in-bound steal. Came back from 8 down when it looked like C's were going to close the door.  Didn't get over-excited, just kept playing hard.

I was actually ready for a loss like this. It happens to the best of them, a classic trap game. I’m confident the good play will continue after the ASB. It’s something to think about and light a fire in their bellies during the long break.

Of course right when we think they’re turning the page they lost to the worst team in the league. Good job.

Isn't that just perfect for this team this season ?

They forgot all those good lessons we thought they had finally learned all in one night.
Why didn't Ime step in and ream them at halftime about not playing the right way - the way that got them 9 straight wins ?
I forgot - he is another players' coach.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

It’s hard to play fast continually when our rotation is effectively 6-7 players.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

If we had to end the streak I guess this is a good one to do so.

1) Going to the break with a loss might help with whatever complacency they might be getting
2) pressure is relieved, we all know streaks put a lot of pressure on guys
3) shorthanded
4) 2nd night of a b2b
5) The winning team is not a competition for playoff slot whatever.
6) We didnt really play that bad, and opponent were unreal.

Wouldve liked the win but meh, its fine all things considered.

He's a lousy shooter.... get used to it.
