Udoka appears to have finally broken through and shown our guys that great defense, passing and hustle (including blocks and rebounds) is how winning is done, not just shooting. If this continues, we’re looking at a 50+ win season and surely Udoka would be front runner for coach of the year, right?

As I've been saying for months, the latter part of the schedule is/was much easier and the team was going to have a significantly better record.  That is what is happening.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

If we hit 50 wins?  No, I don’t think so.

I’d say Jenkins, Spoelstra or Bickerstaff.

And he somehow got through to the team to pass the ball.  Something like 310 passes per game second I'm the NBA o believe.

And he fact we are holding teams to 93 ppg, during the streak. That's the best in 4 years in the NBA.

Might not win it but would probably get a bunch of votes.

For those saying he only got hired due to skin color because he had little coaching experience and ability should probably come forward and say:

Yeah, I was wrong.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

It's really too bad we blew so many games and were so terrible in close games earlier in the season. I get that every team deals with adversity, but a lot of times coaching is at least partly to blame for those types of losses.

Only way Udoka gets COTY is if we finish first in the conference.

What’s really coincidental is that there was a Celtics coach who had exactly the same name that was getting burned in effigy about a month ago.

I do think this is a legitimate point, though I think some of it will depend upon where Chicago and Memphis land, too. However, if we keep this up and Ime leads the team to a top two or three seed by the end of the season, you have to think he's the frontrunner, right? The COTY award usually goes to a team that overachieves from the previous season, but what's even better is overachieving your pre-season expectations AND doing it by a run in the middle of the year that turns the entire season around.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

You’ve also said, repeatedly, that this team lacks the talent to compete for a championship.

And it does right now because Tatum isn't yet good enough (though he can be in a couple of years).

A little interesting fact, Boston is the team in the Eastern Conference with the best record vs teams with winning records. So maybe they can contend.

Bickerstaff is pretty clearly the coach of the year.  I don't think anyone is even close to him.
