Per Woj, Hauser and Kornet are getting the 2 spots needed to get to 12 before tonight's game.  Still 3 open.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Does that mean that they are becoming full contracts, or they will fill in on two-ways?

Woj said rest of the year.

Cool! Kornet has an NBA level ability to defend the pick-and-roll and contest shots with his length, and a potential NBA ability ("potential" for like 5 years now) to stretch the floor. That's a solid end of the bench player.

I like Hauser. I hope he's given the opportunity to prove it at the end of this season, and I hope he steps up. He might even jump Nesmith in the rotation.

Hopefully they won't be needed. I do like the idea of having a "system" and these two guys being relatively familiar with it.

Seems like Brad is going for a Heat-esque player development strategy. Identify the one or two things end-of-the-bench players do well and put them in a position to emphasize those.

Welcome back, Green Kornet!

I'm less enthusiastic about giving Hauser the spot, but we'll see how he does.  I would have just kept him on the two-way and signed him in the off-season.

And at best, he is the 4th center (5th if they use Grant as small ball C)

I have no problem with those being two of the 13-15 guys.  By NBA rule they had to have 12 players under contract by tip-off.  They could have gone with 10-days, but they weren't likely going to find 5 guys who are currently free agents/would be bought out to fill all the open spots, so might as well sign them to rest of season contracts (although in the case of Hauser I'd hope he has a non-guaranteed year for next year also).

My hope with Hauser is that they actually signed him to a deal with a non-guaranteed year 2 for next season.  Feels like the type of detail that gets overlooked in Woj tweets.

Both players are inconsistent at this point but decent end of bench guys. Is Josh Jackson being released?

The Kings just traded for him, so probably not, but it’s the Kings so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah... He's a good one for a backup.

So far we have:

Out: Richardson, Langford, Freedom, Fernando, Bol, and Dozier, Schroder.

In: White, Theis, Kornet, Hauser.

Significant improvement imo. We added two really useful players in White and Theis and added much needed shooting in Hauser and Kornet.

Yep. Added him , Bol and Dozier. Still a nice upgrade overall  imo.  Schroder was killing the flow of our offense and not doing much on defense.
