It is seriously depressing that we’re talking about bringing Joe Johnson back and converting Hauser to a normal contract as our final moves.

I miss Danny

So you miss never trading for an impact player and hearing how close we were to getting nothing done.  NONE of the players traded will be missed and the C's are set up for a good offseason.  The 9 man rotation is set.  The best starting in the unit sticks together and the bench is better.  1 more piece would have been great but they did ALL of this while still staying under the luxury tax line.  In the off season they have TPE's they can use to take back players without giving up ANYONE.

So currently

Smart/White/Pritchard
Brown
Tatum/Nesmith
Horford/Grant
Timelord/Theis

With Hauser and Thomas as two-ways.

Really, really thin and inexperienced after the starters, Theis and White.

We may finally have enough to get the 8 seed! Yay mediocrity! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Danny’s last few years here were far and away his worst, and because of that here we are.

I expect we'll have a couple of 10-day contracts signed to get the team through the All-Star break, when it will become fully clear whether Jaylen hits his bonus.  If he does, the C's will have one million room (because he could still hit team performance bonuses too that are unlikely).  If he doesn't, then they'll have $2.4 million, and an ability to sign some vets for rest of season with an option deals.

I reckon PP plays next to White, for shooting mostly.

Fine, poor choice of words but nothing lately.  Danny didn't do much for years and blew our most recent draft picks.  I loved Danny and appreciate the championship but the last 3-4 years with him were tough.

I see it as we are 8 deep right now
Smart, White, Brown, Tatum, Horford, Grant, Timelord, Theis

we have two deep bench players with Nesmith and PP (I know many will say he needs more minutes but he isn't getting them now unless Ime is going to play him a lot with White and I have no idea)

We need more experienced bodies who can defend and hit a 3...basically backups for JB/ JT

where do we get those players?

I posted this link in the other thread, but there are some decent-ish players currently available. Any chance we bring back Wanamaker? Gotta imagine Denzel Valentine might be a possibility (currently playing in Maine)

Stevens will like that; another ex-player he can bring back.

We could move up Hauser and Thomas. I rather have some solid unspectacular vets at the back end.

Both those guys would be good end of bench guys.
