Once again, White. He was on the floor for most of the 4th quarter when we made our run. He took 1 shot in the 4th I believe (and made it). I admit, I do not fully understand it. Yes, he plays solid D. Yes, he seems to get himself to the right places and get the ball to the right places. No, he doesn't turn the ball over. But statistically, he really impacts the team in a positive way without really seeming to do much.
I pride myself on being someone who relies more on what I see on the court over what I see in the box score or the advanced stats. But I don't feel I totally understand all the things that White must be doing to make the team better. Last game, he also shot efficiently which is easy to see but even when he doesn't shoot efficiently, the team seems to do well.
The trade does feel like an overpay but I am not sure that really matters in the end. I thought Josh Richardson was going to be a good fit, a nice versatile piece off the bench. I didn't know much about White, I certainly didn't know he was going to be some kind of voodoo good luck charm. He was a key to a really big win last night though, you cannot dispute that. +18, second only to Horford. I know, the +/- for any given game is not an end all stat but it always seems that the team is in the plus when he plays, whether he makes shots or not.
