The trade for IT was considered minor at the time...

IT was  ;D

He was a borderline starter with the Suns. I don't remember anyone thinking he'd go a historic run with the Celtics.

Yeah .he kinda stepped in and took over scoring duties for the team .  He was one of a kind player .

I think the cs still get divincenzo.  Richardson is the wildcard.  I don't think Atlanta is moving Collins for smart and I don't think AL is getting moved.

If any deals go down it will definitely be Dennis and maybe a young guy.

Wild cards are grant and Richardson.

Atlanta seems ready to do something stupid...

Probably nothing

Maybe a Schroeder dump deal. Maybe not

Love to see a Beasley deal while his value is relatively low due to a poor shooting season

Would love a major Collins deal even more

As good as we've been lately I still think its fool's gold.  I have no issues with the starting 5.  But, the bench needs major improvement.  I am hesitant to get rid of Grant, Schroder, Richardson and certainly not Al.  After those 8, there is a severe drop off in players that consistently contribute.  Is it Ime's fault for not doling out more minutes to those 9 and down?  I would hope the TPE's and players 9 and down could get us a 6 or 7 bench player.  At least I hope.

I get the feeling they will do a trade of some kind, but It will be something small and pretty much insignificant to short term team success.

E.g. Trading Fernando  for a protected second round pick to clear cap space or something along those lines.  Or maybe at most Schroeder being moved  for some relatively insignificant player and a pick.

The Cs probably make a trade to create a roster spot which they could use to sign someone who’s bought out?

There is no obvious trade to me. Schroeder for a smaller contract gets us out of the luxury tax, but it also says, "Hey Jaylen and Jayson, we are getting rid of a key playoff rotation player just to duck the tax."

I actually am finding it more likely that they go deeper into the tax and get another rotation player. I think they could be buyers this year, without sacrificing a key assets/contract that they would want to use to make another big move in the off-season.

Minor trade, but I think there's a decent chance we keep Richardson and Schroder too.

The C's have won 5 straight and honestly, the East is filled with teams who are hurt, dealing with some turmoil or teams that have been great but might be "pretenders" (maybe Cleveland, Chicago?)

A healthy Milwaukee and Brooklyn team are the only two teams I truly fear in the East but Brooklyn isn't healthy and Harden might even get dealt by tomorrow which changes things.

Don't really think it sends a good message if you're dealing key guys from a potential playoff rotation just to duck the tax or "get back something" even if it's just some mere 2nd rounder.

I mean I know there have been 2nd round gems found in the past but it's RARE you find that guy and also, I'd hate to just dump a good depth guy like Schroder just for a 2nd round pick (unless it's a high one I guess, but still...)

The last few years should have shown us that having a good bench is key and if 1 or 2 guys get hurt you can get in a pickle quickly

Schroder dump deal is what I see as well but I hope I am wrong.   Thing is we don't have great expendable assets  and we 're not going to go full rebuild as I see it.

I'd be curious to know how many buyouts actually ended up moving the needle for their respective teams, and if so which were they. How many hidden gems are actually found in the buyout market? Anyone know where to get that information?
