Curveball:
Jaylen + Richardson for Collins + Bogs + 1st pick
Smart
Bogdanovic
Tatum
Collins
Williams III
Just leave Richardson and Bogs out of it. Start with Brown for Collins plus this years first and maybe a future first.
Brown would be great for ATL. My problem is that I am just not sure how good Collins is. Is he just Kevin Love, good numbers but not as impactful as the numbers would suggest? Or is he a legit, big time 20/10 PF?
Am I overlooking that Brown could be the same, good numbers, limited impact?
I will say that I would rather pair Tatum with a good PF over a good SG.
Why are we making a trade that would benefit an eastern conference rival, sending out one of our best players? Did I miss something? We are ahead of the Hawks in the standings, right?
I can't speak for others but in my case, I was just exploring an idea that someone else posted. I agree that head to head, Brown is a better player but Collins is right there. Plus a skilled big is a rarer commodity in the NBA right now.
I have read many posts and listened to many talking heads carry on an on about how Tatum and Brown are a bad fit next to each other. I don't agree with that as being a fundamental truth or anything like that but I do think a really good wing and a really good big is better than two really good wings.
I don't see it as outrageous to trade Brown for Collins and first round picks. The idea that ATL is behind us in the standings actually makes the potential value of the picks higher. Collins and two picks is a pretty good haul but if you aren't happy with that, how about Collins and 3 picks or two picks and Huerter or something like that. There is a point where Collins plus something is a good trade for Brown.
