I smell smoke right now on a Smart <> Collins swap......

I don’t know why you smell smoke there but I think this would be one of the few trades for Marcus I’d be excited about.  Why does Atlanta do this trade?

I'm wishing it as well, and it depends on the rest of the deal.
Atlanta would have a backcourt that could feature the scoring leader and DPOY. Yea, it's a stretch, but I'm the salesman here.

I think Brad doesn’t risk moving Smart, with how our defense has been performing. This is just too much of a hot streak to tamper with team chemistry. It’s a pity we can’t see how this current team performs against the top tier squads before the trade deadline.

I here you, but this is one of the few trades that make the C's better going forward.
GWIII/Collins/Tatum/Brown, young and signed for multiple seasons.
We may take a step back this season, depending on the other pieces.
Maybe we could get someone like Rondo for the rest of this year?
Would vet min guys want to play with the young core, going forward?

I agree with what you’re saying. I just think that Brad might be reluctant to move Smart now with the team in this hot streak of which Smart has been a major catalyst.

I personally am torn with what to do with Smart. Part of me says keep him with how well he’s been playing of late, but part of me also thinks this is Smart at his highest trade value now. And I have a feeling his play starts to slack off once the deadline passes. This is gonna be an interesting next couple of hours.

Think the obvious framework is Smart and Horford for Collins and Bogdonovic. I suspect the Hawks ask for more, but Brad resists on the basis of being willing to take on Bogdon’s money, considering he’s overpaid fairly substantially. I think Stevens would relent and include either Nesmith or Langford, but not Grant or a 1st round pick.

If the rumors out of Atlanta are accurate, Collins price may not be very high — and ATL is very warm on Marcus next to Trae.

That it’s the Hawks may be the biggest issue for Brad.

Wow.  I'm excited yet nervous.  I've pined for Collins but losing Marcus really changes the team.  What will happen to the D?  Who will play PG?  Does that mean no Dennis trade?  Horford to the bench?

Never heard of this dude, but Smart for Collins doesn’t work salarywise.  Celtics would have to send out $4 million extra, which would require a player in addition to Romeo/Nesmith, or if not one of them, 2-3 minimum salary players.  Feels pretty unlikely and 100% made up.

Oh yes because it is so hard to add Fernando and some cash so they can cut him.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

This is a no flipping brainer trade. Get ‘er done Brad!!!

If this is the path, I think we keep Schroder. Our PG rotation is plus require it.

I think Brad doesn’t risk moving Smart, with how our defense has been performing. This is just too much of a hot streak to tamper with team chemistry. It’s a pity we can’t see how this current team performs against the top tier squads before the trade deadline.
This is how I feel. The Celtics are up to #2 in DRtg for the season and Smart is the tip of that spear. He also seems to have locked into this pg role in the last few games. If it sticks, I don't see why Brad would trade him.

The Celtics went 3-3 without Smart when he was out that stretch in January. Since he came back they're 8-1.
