I don't see any reason to trade Schroder just to trade him. The team will be worse this season if we trade him for a second round pick, Pritchard is not as good. Pritchard has had plenty of playing time this year to allow for development (12.1 min/gm, 44 games, 532 total min). Trading Schroder is not going to make Pritchard better. A second round pick is nothing. They can be purchased in the off season.
Now if we can get something back for Schroder that will help us this season and beyond, a PF or something like that, then fine. We take a little step back at the back up PG but hopefully get better somewhere else, that makes sense. But if we trade Schroder to essentially just get under the cap, I will be very disappointed.
The development that will occur for Tatum, Brown, Smart, Williams from playing better in the playoffs is more important than force feeding minutes to Pritchard in the hopes that maybe he develops. That would be completely the wrong reason to trade someone.
