Latest story is they will discuss the trade before the deadline. So this is probably bad news as it would strengthen both teams. Also seems risky for 76ers cause harden reportedly hates the cold weather and living in New York. Is he gonna line Philly more?

EDIT:

Quote from: Woj
The Sixers are sending the Nets an unprotected 2022 first-round pick and a protected 2027 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

Quote
The Nets are including Paul Millsap in the deal too, sources tell ESPN.

How would that money match?

Harden for Simmons and Curry works in trade machine.

Wouldn’t be hard.  If they thought the value equal, a couple of minimum salary contracts will do.

Harden seemingly doesn't like playing with Irving. He hasn't played nearly as well as was since Irving rejoined the team.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I have to believe nobody on the team likes him coming in and out of lineup especially when they are struggling.

I think he's annoyed that Irving won't get vaccinated. He's made comments about giving Kyrie the vaccine himself.

Harden wants a ring, with Kyrie already having one he's not going to have the same sense of urgency. KD is more willing to entertain Kyrie because he has a ring already too.

I think they need 8 million...

Curry is another guy shams mentioned but I feel like he would be really good with harden so kind of tough to give him up. Philly operating from a position of weakness though. If simmons is traded and immediately plays it is a real disgrace and insult to people that battle mental health issues.

Super fair as well.

Imagine wanting a ring more than anything.

And you have a guy on the team who's like, "look, I want a ring, but I'm not willing to do this one thing for it".

Like, take the politics out and you are left with someone who has different priorities in their life.

I hate Harden's game. I don't like his attitude. But man, this is like the one thing where I can relate. The one thing where I'm like yeah dog, go get it elsewhere. this team does not have their heart in the same place as you do.

It was obvious they wouldn't be a good fit together on court.  Add on Kyrie's flakiness and it is understandable that Harden would want out.  When you add a 3rd star, he really needs to complement the other two stars.

They don't need 8 million to match.  ESPN trade machine wasn't successful with 2M salary filler but was successful with 2.4M filler.

I'm 100% with you. Don't like his game at all, but he was clear he was leaving Houston to pursue a championship. If the other guys don't have the same priorities, don't waste what you have left in the tank.

If Harden really wants out of Brooklyn, Philly isn't in that weak of a position.  Harden could opt out and become a free agent in the offseason.  Do the Nets want to risk losing him for nothing?  Simmons is a good return considering the situation and seems like he'd be a good fit with KD and Kyrie.

Does anyone really believe mental health issues are really keeping Simmons from playing?
