So if rumors are true:
Richardson to Utah
Schroeder to Chicago or Cleveland
Smart to minny for Beverly who be a FA

Clearing a lot of space & money for summer but for who?

So would that be Beal/Harden?
That what I thought

This trade rumor/talk was on pregame: Richardson, Langford and Nesmith all have been mentioned as potential trade chips for Boston, and Beasley would have been an interesting return piece. I personally hate this. Are we just going to dump two lotto picks and never develop them at all?  Seems like a massive waste.

Is adding draft choice(s) for the purpose of making a bigger deal, then great, or as I suspect, just to add two or three young players that the coach won't play?

Why is the "big four" so sacred when two of them don't shoot very well on a team that is designed to shoot the 3?

One of the "big four" is either a point guard who can't play the point or is a shooting guard who can't shoot.

To suggest that this team is poorly configured would be a real understatement.

I agree. A team has to develope it's young players.

What if Beasley was going to Washington? He's probably a better single piece than any of those other pieces. Plus they get multiple draft picks and prospects.

What would be coming back to The Celtics?

A lot of these rumors, especially the ones involving Smart and Timelord, suggest that the other teams think the Cs will be sellers rather than buyers.  The way that TL and Smart are playing right now make them great compliments to the Jays...

Eh. With their anemic offense and shooting I question if they are really both great compliments to the Jays. Brown and Tatum are good enough defensively we don't need two defensive minded players. Our offense sputters because of lack of a third shot creator and shooters with gravity. Having both those guys on the floor makes us really easy to defend.

Of the 87 4-player combinations to have played at least 300 minutes this season, the Smart-Brown-Tatum-Rob Williams combo leads the league in net rating.  I’d say the proof is in the pudding.

What's our record right now?

When those four play?

Yeah...

14-9, which is a 50-win pace.

Wolves look to be real hard after Smart.  Now I'm definitely in the "let me drive Smart out of town" camp, but Beasley is a SG, if we move Smart, does that mean we keep Dennis?  Not sure I'm a bid fan of that either.

Is Smart for an unprotected 1st and Beasley enough?

I'm thinking yes!

Malik Beasley? The guy shooting 37 percent from the floor who doesn't pass or play defense?

What are we talking about here? The news cycle lately seems to be worse than normal.

I cant wrap my head around why someone who hates that marcus cant shoot would want Malik Beasley. What is happening?

I'm fine with trading Smart in the right deal, and I like some pieces Minny has. But I really hope the basis for the deal isn't Beasley. He's not very good.

Find a more creative deal that brings back meaningful value and upside. The Cs need it.

They can look all they want,   I would not trade Beasley for Smart.

Now Smart, Richardson and Nesmith for Vanderbuilt and D'Angelo Russell  and a 2nd, might get my attention if D'Angelo has matured.  If he has not I'd pass.  I would hate to see Richardson and Smart go.     This is a countertrade you would propose so they say "no"

I seriously wonder if its part of a three-team trade that would use Beasley and the first as part of a trade for Beal. Smart doesn't make any sense for Washington, but Beasley does. He's on a good contract, proved last year he could average 20 ppg, and still has some room to grow. For a bottom-feeder, that allows the team to keep fans interested in a way that Smart's offense wouldn't.

In other words, Smart helps a team vying for the playoffs, not a team that's rebuilding. Beasley helps a team that's rebuilding.

If the Wizards got the following for Beal, would they consider it?

1. A 20 ppg scorer at Beal's position to replace him
2. Get out of Bertans' contract
3. Unprotected first from Minny and an additional first from Boston
4. 2 decent prospects

Celtics would trade Smart, Horford, Nesmith, Langford (or Pritchard), and a first
for
Beal and Bertans

I think that's a reasonable trade package for Beal (i know people will disagree). The real question is whether or not the Sixers would offer Ben Simmons for Beal, because that would definitely trump that offer.

I could get behind that. Hopefully it would leave Pritchard here as I’d still want to boot Schroeder somehow and we’d need SOME kind of PG.

Simmons might trump that but would Philly offer to take back Bertans too?
