40 minutes, 1-13 from 3…. And 0 assists? That’s absolutely disgusting.

It’s what happens when someone who’s a borderline number two wants to be a number one and has deluded himself into believing he is the one who should be the number one, so tries to ball hog and hero ball against a decent franchise like LAC while the true number one is out of the game. But there’s clearly no shame or he’d have ensured at least one assist happened. Just goes to show folks the maturity level we’re dealing with here, too, that he did not have enough self-awareness to be sure he got at least one or two assists to attempt to hide his i-genda. Some of us see right through this extreme individualistic agenda that’s hurting our team. The numbers of us who know what’s really happening are growing with each game, though, particularly with each loss putting us further below .500. This thread is ample evidence.

JTJB...Otherwise, it’s just a matter of time before many fans take a break from this “team” (personally miss having a team playing team ball—even when we were huge underdogs like in 2015, it was far more enjoyable than watching two guys trying to out-Caramelo each other, and hoping they’ll knock it off and play team ball at last…waited long enough and seen enough after this past hero ball performance against G-leaguers).

Timelord for me is the second most valuable player .  His game is improving , he makes his teammates better when he is on the floor. …..

Agree, with Grant starting to grow as clearly our second best prospect. Only reason would advocate for cashing in on Timelord is injury concerns. If he can stay healthy, he’s a rebounding defensive machine.

I've said it before, I will say it again. Basing decisions off team records with/without a player is a bad idea, and a terrible team building argument. The sample sizes are just meaningless. Team is better with Brown on the floor (even in these two losses outscored the opponent when Brown was on). Better with both him and Tatum on the floor as well.

The time may come when they trade Brown, but if it does it will be because they think it makes them better. Not because of the team record with or without him.

Also this thread is pretty indicative of who watched the game and who didnt. Because although Brown had zero assists he did not have a bad passing game. Eight potential assists. Nobody could hit a shot. So he tried to bail them out late with some threes and it didn't work.

This teams issue is, was, and continues to be no shooting and terrible spacing. Which is why the Ben Simmons trade ideas are particularly terrible.

If the Celtics listened to the very loud minority of fans on this site with their wildly concocted theories about why it's necessary to trade Jaylen Brown and traded him now, I guarantee 3 or 4 years from now when Jaylen is dropping 40 at the Garden knocking the Celtics out of the playoffs, people will be lamenting: "Why can't the Celtics get players like Jaylen Brown?"

Bank on it.

Let’s test the theory of whether JTJB is a minority with a poll.

He’ll be shipped to the West. And he’ll never be in the NBA Finals as a number one or number two.

Bank on it.

Grant is not a prospect. He is an extremely limited role player.

It’s funny. People hear “let’s trade Brown” but understand it as “Brown is a terrible player”.

Also, people are dying on the hill of 1 game where he had 0 assists. As someone mentioned, 1 game is not indicative of anything. He could’ve had 0, he could’ve had 4. Same diff.

It's one thing to say we should be open to trading Brown (or anybody for that matter), it's another thing to say we ''must'' trade him.

People keep arguing that Tatum and Brown cannot play together, yet they have reached the ECF 2 times in the 4 years they are playing together. I could even argue they are 2 out of 3 cause Brown entirely missed the playoffs last season.

Personally speaking, I'd replace the coach way before I'd come to the conclusion that we ''must trade'' Jaylen.

Because the west and NYC cater to the top 10 players ….Ainge had the right idea getting Stars to Boston .  If your gonna win a title , that has to be your goal .   Year after year till it works , other wise your not going to be in the serious conversation.

IMO...He may drop 40 in the Garden, but the team he's on will be out of the playoffs, or he'll be on a team where he's not relied on. Jaylen is a warrior...he's a social justice warrior. He's a talented scorer who cares most about protest and politics. He drives two... three hours to attend a rally. He's quite vocal... on that subject. That is dedication. Basketball is his occupation, it's his vehicle to gain notoriety and wealth for his true interest. Brand loyalty, ownership or Celtic pride is of little consequence to him. Win, lose, or draw he has more important things on his mind.

When Marcus Smart made the infamous statement about "they don't pass the ball, that was the tip of the iceberg. I'm sure he got an earful from ownership on that little bomb. When Marcus is traded, instead of Brown... prepare yourself for some real truth about the J's. I just hope Jayson Tatum is paying attention.

Let me say this again, this thread has nothing to do with the game the other day.  I've been saying this for years in various forms, I just compiled it one place.  The Celtics basically since Tatum entered the league have a better win percentage when Brown misses a game entirely (when they have Tatum), then they do when Brown plays (when they have Tatum).  And they do in a very large part because Tatum plays significantly better when Brown isn't on the floor with him.  That just isn't true when the team has Brown and does not have Tatum.  Boston falls off a cliff when Tatum doesn't play.  The Celtics quite simply need Tatum to play.  He doesn't even have to play well, they just need Tatum on the floor.  Someone said it another thread, but it fits.  Tatum is the engine of the Celtics.  He is the guy that drives wins and losses and he has since basically his first game as a rookie.  No Irving, no problem if Tatum is there.  No Hayward, no problem if Tatum is there.  No Brown, no problem if Tatum is there.  The fact that Tatum plays better without Brown, is why Brown should be traded.  It is obvious they don't maximize each others skill sets and it is also obvious that Tatum is a better player and significantly more important to the Celtics winning, which is why Brown and not Tatum should be the guy to be moved.
