Valanciunas can't be traded until October of 2022.

If I'm the Boston Celtics right now I'm paying close attention to how long it is before Jaylen Brown is forced on the IR list again before I take a wild swing like this trade. What we don't want, is for the rest of the league to label him as injury prone.

Does he stay healthy 8 games? Or is it 30 games?

Yes, C’s should trade away their second best player for a guy that has weight issues and misses significant time every season with injury.  ::)
ah yes because Brown isn't made of glass either.

Zions first two seasons in the league he played 85 games. Jaylens first 2 seasons in the league he played 148.  ???

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Zion played more games than Brown did last year though and Brown has missed half the team's games this year (obviously zion has yet to play).  Brown is injury prone.  He misses a lot of game every year because he is injured.  He misses playoff games as well.  Obviously, Zion is more injured, but Zion was also a better player in year 2 then Brown has ever been in his 6-year career.

Zion played 61 games last year to Browns 58. Love how you leave out the specifics. Who do you think is more of a health/injury risk going forward, Jaylen Brown or Zion Williamson? Should be a pretty easy call..  Best ability is availability and I have more confidence in JB in that regard than I ever would in Zion.

To all those wanting to run JB out of town because you think JB and JT don’t mesh, how do you see Zion and Tatum working? I don’t see Zion and Tatum playing well together at all.

As Mark Cuban once said “You don't make a change to make a change. Unless you have someone that you know is much, much, much better, the grass is rarely greener on the other side."

Y’all got some green, green grass on this one.

Both teams say no right now.

A big man with a foot problem who carries a lot of weight?   Has had setbacks?   Too many questions to trade Brown for.

For NO, trading away possibly of having one of the best big men for the next 10 years?

Celtics luck goes like this .  He is paid the most of any player in history , plays less than 50 games and destroys both  his ACL ‘s or worse , maybe back issues ,  never really returns , stays injured, one thing after another for the whole contract .  This would be his legacy in Boston anyway.  Too much bulk to be flying though the air , something is gonna go very wrong.

Believe he ll be safer on a football field …grounded .

I mean, at least TRY to make the trade idea realistic... for either or both sides.

Regardless, Valanciunas can't be traded until summer. End of thread.

Need to add another option to the poll that states: "This trade is not actually possible."

My point has been made with the poll results.  N.O. would never offer this much for Jaylen.  And the poll results are 15 to 1.

Completely irrational homerism  for Jaylen.  Not surprisingly.  We are on celtics blog after all.

It has Nothing to do with being a homer. Zion has had injury issues at every level: High School, College and the NBA. When you are that young and have chronic issues with your feet and knees, with that much weight and his style of play, bad things are going to happen. You can ignore that if you want, but that’s the reason the poll numbers are the way that they are.
