Gimme your realistic trade target(s)

I want to see the team go smaller and get more skill on the floor. More shooting, more ball-handling, more passing. More guard play. Tatum and Jaylen should be the forwards.

Problem is Boston has little in the trade coffers for adding talent. They certainly cannot get any high level talent without giving up Jaylen or Tatum. So you gotta come down a level or three.

I still love the idea of Buddy Hield as a shooter next to Jaylen and Tatum. Someone who can really stretch the floor and scare the crap outta opponents.

My realistic trade target is the next guy who demands a trade, depresses his value, and has the Celtics on his shortlist.

Outside that, I could see a world where Portland trades McCollum to shake things up for Dame. I’d like to get in on that. But not super likely.

Simmons…. Ugh man he would be nice but I honestly don’t know if he could handle Boston any differently than Philly. Siakam would be great.

Doubt we get a star player without giving up Tatum or Brown, so like see something like Terrence Ross or other vets on losing teams who are looking to rebuild

Both are too expensive at the moment.   If the Celtics young players had shown more by now, maybe. 

We got all our future firsts intact. I'm assuming we're trading away a couple of firsts (if not 3), plus Smart, Timelord, prospects and/or salary filler(s). I'd rather we keep Horford despite him being 35 and massively overpaid, but Wyc is cheap. Not sure whether he'd be willing to pay 4 max/close-to-max contracts. Maybe he gives the go-ahead if we target a 3rd All-Star like Simmons/Siakam.

I bet plenty of posters would argue this is an overpay for Simmons. The way I see it, if we can somehow add Simmons while keeping both the Jays, it's a no-brainer.

I'd love both of them! TPs! Wood is definitely an intriguing target, although I believe he's at his best when playing at Center. As things stand right now, we are very deep at the Center position.

Wyc isn't cheap, he's smart. You don't invest in a product when it underachieves. The time to go all in on Tatum and Brown may be in two or three years when they learn how to prime a team.

I would actually love Simmons, but as others mentioned no way Philly trades him to us.
I think he has a lot to prove and just wants out of Philly - and will try to stick it to them wherever he goes.

He is just being an absolute diva which is par for the course with todays NBA players.

Maybe, Bagley just needs a change of scenery. I don't know, but he should come cheap and has very real upside. But could Ime and his staff handle and develop him properly? Not sure about that.

Does Jerami Grant get tired of losing in Detroit this year?

One thing about Grant, he said he left Denver for Detroit because he wanted to play for a black coach and black GM.  With Udoka in, the C's might be more of an appealing destination for him now.

Detroit probably doesn't want much of what the C's can offer, but maybe a 3 way where a young playoff team is looking for vets and can send young guys back to Detroit (Atlanta or Memphis come to mind)?  Smart + Romeo/Nesmith + pick out, Grant in?

I honestly don't love the idea of adding another wing, but I am all about adding a 3rd star. Siakam would be #1, followed closely by Ben. Also would be great to get Grant at a discount, but I have no idea how DET values him. Could probably live without Wood for now since we have TL and Horford.

Funny enough, we could really a use an All-Star caliber PG. I am all set watching Tatum and Brown trying to run the show. They aren't horrible, but are secondary playmakers at best. Both would be so much better coming off picks rather than always trying to create for themselves. Same with Smart obviously, but he'd very likely be going out in any trade for a high salary player.

I really don’t want Simmons on this team. We are worried about their lack of composure, and their ability to play focused and together in big games. There aren’t many players I’d expect to worse than the Cs have shown this year, but Simmons is at the top of that short list.

Maybe Udoka sees something the 6ers failed to bring out in him (like Horford…) but based on what I’ve seen I am opposed for a team that is trying to get deep in the playoffs.

Does Pritchard maybe have some value for a team that plays less switching D and doesn’t have a backup art Schroeder’s level? We may be about the worst positioned to get the best from his skills right now.

Rather keep him since Schroeder is not going to be a long term Celtic.

Bagley seems like a realistic target.  He is making $11M and sitting on the bench.  He is a career 14 pts / 7.5 rebs.  That is much better than anyone we have had at PF in a while.  We have the Fournier TPE if we want to use it on him.  Or we could trade Richardson.

I am not sure how much this is going to improve the team.  I just don't know what Bagley really is.

If we are just treading water this year I'd be all for sending out some vets to golden state for either Kuminga or Moody. If Golden State wants to move on from Wiseman I'd be in on that as well. It's hard to see what direction this team should be moving in this early in the season. I thought we'd be coming out of the gate stronger than we have. My bad. I'm starting to ( probably too early) see this as a bridge year.
