Just hypothetical Charlotte wouldn't do this but would you Trade Tatum for Bridges, Ball and salary filler Plumlee.

Do you think the trade makes us a better team.

Horford Timelord
Bridges
Brown
Richardson/Smart
Ball/Schroder

I think this team would actually be better than with Tatum.

I think the team needs to decide if Tatum is a distributor or a scorer.  I know they want him to be the former, is he thinking too much every play as he is learning?  I've always thought a lot of basketball IQ is innate, you either have it or you do not.

Most NBA GMs would do this trade in a heartbeat.

We'd be more entertaining. I don't know if we'd win more games.

I don't think that CHA would do that.

Ball and Bridges have a high ceiling. Ball's may be as high as Tatum's.

I can't imagine Bridges continues at anywhere near this pace.  He'd take a leap that is basically unprecedented i.e. doubling your scoring in year 4 without really changing your role (i.e. he has played basically 30 mpg with more starts than not over the last 2 seasons and now takes this leap).

Forgetting every other name mentioned...

PJ Washington could be an interesting target prior to the deadline.

Would Tatum work with Ball?

The question is what is Tatum? He's been groomed as a ball dominant scoring machine. The ball dominant part seems like a problem. He gets compared a lot to Durant, but can he be like Durant, and be a spectacular scorer while allowing someone else to make lots of the decisions?

I think the C's have screwed up here. Tatum is a monster scorer, but now he has deeply baked in bad habits. He's an OK decision maker, but he's been a primary ball handler for several years. He's going to improve, but he just doesn't have the innate talent of an elite playmaker. He never will. And because of that, the C's are a mediocre playmaking team.

I'd rather have Tatum if he could adapt to handing over a chunk of the playmaking to someone better at it. Its really frustrating we haven't tried to get that player. I don't see us winning a title if he's the primary decision maker. And I don't know if he's the same scorer off the ball.

Absolutely.  I believe Ball is a much better fit than Brown, as an example.  Tatum actually needs a play maker next to him.  That is one of the main reasons why Brown and him don't work all that well, and why Tatum often plays better when Brown is out.  A guy that handles and passes better, makes way more sense as a compliment to Tatum and the C's quite simply have never really had that.  That is why I really want to see Schroder starting.  I think he would really unlock Tatum, but a mega talent like Ball would be incredible next to Tatum.
