Quote
Al Horford on the Celtics lack of energy: "We need to be committed to preparing and working before the games. We have to be better at that."

Ugh, even Al calling out the lack of focus and intensity beforehand. Just ridiculous. The historically stable and high character Celtics organization clearly has a culture problem.
Got to wonder how much having a veteran like Smart publicly undermine the ideas of the coach, like a team captain. I really pray he gets shipped off

Where was the Jaylen Brown who put up Jordan-like numbers the other night. Looking like pedestrian lately

Hey, leave Jaylen alone. After all, now that we hired the coach he wanted, Jaylen is all in for Coach Ime, "He has my full attention, my full respect. I’m completely bought in." I'm sure that's why Jaylen, Jason and Marcus are bringing incredible intensity every night.

Those guys all got their big contracts, they can coast, get their stats and a few highlight plays, and cash in the rest of the way. It takes special players to have the hunger and sacrifice to truly want to win after reaching that status. Some guys have it, some don't. As a GM, Brad has to honestly ask himself which of these guys if any have it, and move the ones that he thinks don't while they still have good value.

Didn't Ime say he was going to be demanding of Tatum and Brown, that he was going to constantly push them ?
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Doc went at Pierce his first year in Boston, and took him some time to get Pierce to mature and take the next step. He benched him during that time too.

I'm hoping Ime can do the same with these guys, but he has his work cut out for him. It's not just one player, it's several of them.

Ime should've benched Brown and Tatum in the second half of this one. If there are no consequences then there's no change. Thibbs wouldn't even play Buttler in his first year. Ime is the boss he needs to act like one.

Yeah, and he's going to take care of the refs too but he's not. There were some truly horrid calls near the end of this one and nothing from the coach. I thought we were getting a Pop like coach but Ime doesn't have fire!!!

He is courting trouble calling out his players in pressers, but only if he is not confronting them in person.

If most of us had gone to work with the attitude that these players do often, we'd all be unemployed.

just no fire in them to start the game and second quarter wasn't particularly good.  Other than Al, starters were really flat, especially Jaylen.

i just dont understand how it’s possible they’ve started the season playing 60% of their games with very little effort.

Do you know who plays hard every minute on the court? Pritchard, and Nesmith.

Kanter, as well, always plays hard. Give him some minutes and he puts up rebounds and points.
He may struggle sometimes defending the dribble-drive stuff because of his lack of agility, but he never lacks the effort.

Agreed. I'm really disappointed in Ime. He looks lost. He looks like an assistant trying to be a head coach.

Rebounds are defense. Yeah, Kanter should be playing. We have a really deep team no reason for players who look tired and they probably are playing all these overtime games, to be in the game. I have never been so disappointed in a Celtics coach in my life. From Red to Brad. Tommy would be calling this out! RIP.

Even worse with the new NBA dress down uniforms the coaches are wearing these days. He is coaching like an assistant.

If I had the work attitude of some of these divas ,  I can’t imagine how my parents would have reacted .

They might have practiced social justice on my rear end ….whew ….. :P

But today ……I would have visited them in jail….. ;D

He's too quiet and he's always staring down at some papers. I'm more worked up about the game that Ime.
