On paper, if all I had to consider was their basketball talents, that's a great lineup that would be a no-brainer. My concern with Simmons has always been his work ethic and his mental approach to the game and to his teammates. Obviously you need to have talent to succeed in the NBA, he's a 2 time All Star so he has talent in spades...the issue for me is his mental approach to the game. The lack of improvement since he entered the league...compared to the leaps and bounds that the 2 who were drafted 2 and 3 in that same year, to me that speaks to his work ethic, to a player who is ok with where he is. Obviously where he is, he's a 2 time All Star and a very gifted player so maybe he feels he doesn't need to get better.

And what's happening since his trade demand...I worry that if we did trade for him, what's to say the same thing wouldn't happen to us if he fell out with Ime or his teammates? I'm not sure how much of it is being driven by Rich Paul and how much by Ben, but that would be a big risk to me to have to consider, that we would be possibly in Philly's shoes a few years from now.
It's very tempting, because a lineup like the one below would be supremely switchable and very mobile. I'm sure there would be plenty of GMs that would be willing to take the risk, and I couldn't blame them. I'm just not sure if I would be one of them.
