Got home, turned on Gamecast, Saw the Score, Went to Kitchen and mixed a Crown,

What happened ?
Raptors defense shut the Celtics down completely.  Turnovers were 25 for the Celtics to 5 for Toronto. There was a stetch in the first half where the Raptors got offensive rebound after offensive rebound and built a lead that they never gave up. And outside of Al and maybe Richardson everyone else took the night off.

Basically a total s--t show.

Craptors statpadding in a game that's long over. Garbage franchise.

If I'd been in there, I would've stomped on someone's knee and broken a leg.

And that's why I got thrown out of the last rec league I was in. *shrugs*
You sound like a mature guy

Twas a joke.
Ah, gotcha. A scuffle in a rec league I was in saw some bloke rip another man's knee out of its socket in a scuffle (gotta assume he was trained in BJJ or something). Might make me a bit more sensitive to those kinds of jokes

It's all good. I try to cope with massive disappointment with gallows humour. Doesn't always fly.

We played decent defense to be honest. We just couldn’t rebound the ball.

The offense was really bad though. It’s only been 2 games but I think it’ll be easy to “outcoach” Ime. Idk if he can prepare the team or make mid game adjustments soon enough to counter what the other team is doing.

Sounds like my kind of guy.
I mean, he was joking.

But you identify with people committing grievous bodily harm over a basketball dispute in a rec league?

Couldn't you have guessed that by now, Gouk ?

What I actually identify with is Kevin McHale setting Kurt Rambis on his ass because his Celtics
team was being embarrassed by a Lakers fast break in the finals.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

If you are only playing two bigs they can't play together. We need more shooting on the floor. How many times do you see a team with 60 rebounds? THat's crazy!!!!

I think JT started out well. Then he was benched….that could be frustrating for a player. Specially when you see the lead evaporating because of a weird small line up.

The defense ends when you get the rebound so no we didn't play decent defense.

Man, maybe this is jumping the gun, but this team just feels so hopeless. Like there's nothing to look forward to. Used to love watch Celtics games the past 5 or so years, but now it's getting to the point where it's not even fun.

Rec ball and pro ball are worlds apart. And setting someone on their butt is a world apart from breaking someone's leg.

Can't really believe I have to explain this

Yeah it’s rare indeed

I guess it’s rare too to see a lineup with no one over 6’6”

JT only took 14 shots. 14! SMART 0-6.

How many more years are we gonna say how great Tatum and brown are until they are?

i’ve been saying the same. they both show flashes but we haven’t seen consistently great play or leadership from either.

also concerning is their lack of leadership. how often do we see such listless, unmotivated play from their teams? the real greats don’t allow their teams to get embarrassed as often as the J’s do. and they don’t seem to care.

c’s fans may not want to admit it but this is now a serious concern for two guys in their fifth and sixth years who are supposed stars.
Biggest issue is how both are used and when a guy gets hot but then his own teammates freeze the guy out. The last three years this has happened. It should be when a star gets it going you ride him till he gets cold or doubled. Last game they went away from Brown. This game Tatum. It's like every player on the team needs 4 shots or more? No give the ball to the hot player and do everything you can to keep it going. That's how you use stars. This team doesn't do that. They do, "everyone gets a turn" offense.

Only two games but I feel like these Celtics have gotten out-hustled both games. Not great.
