Wow I really misread this Mavs-Suns series lol. I thought Suns had this in a "comfortable 6 games"

They need someone to go off ASAP

On the bright side, it's good to see another team struggling with the Mavs like we did in the season.

Might they be better than we collectively think?

They might be. Luka's obviously a superstar but they've got a lot of solid pieces all over that fit well

Though I also think Phoenix might just be choking a bit. Booker, CP3 and Ayton have looked abysmal so far

Like imagine if Tatum, Brown and 1 of Timelord/Smart/Horford combined for 6 points total near halftime.
only the Suns had a better record than the Mavs in 2022 entering the playoffs.  They've been playing great ball for months. Plus Luka is just awesome.  Reason I picked them to win the West before the playoffs started
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Are the Mavs that good defensively? I mean, the Suns can't manage more than 27 points in the half???

This is an absurd no-show. Any way to rescind any potential All-NBA awards for Phoenix? :P

Luka is a savage.  He broke their spirit.  That man is unstoppable, loves the big moment, and has master-level trash talk.  I can't believe he's allowed to get away with half the crap you can clearly see him saying.  Lol.

If Brunson + Dinwiddie get around their season average of 32 ppg, I expect Dallas to win, if not, Phoenix probably will.  I say probably because I wouldn't put it past Luka to drop a 50 spot and will them to victory.
or maybe Luka drops 50 and Brunson + Dinwiddie go for their season average and the Mavs run away with it

Of course they aren't. Suns are bricking open 3s like crazy. We are witnessing one of the worst chokes of all time.

That's not to say the mavs aren't playing well - they are. But the body language for Phoenix is a disgrace. They have looked beaten since the tip.

It's OK to be anxious in a game like this. but at least show some fight on defense. They look small, soft, afraid. not good.

As great as Luka was in the first half, it's the Suns offense managing only 27 points that got them in this mess.

The Mavs have been a different team since moving Porzingis for Dinwiddie. Not as epic as the Celtics second half of the season but not that far behind it either.
