Gotta wonder if the Hornets don’t look to move on from the former Celtics for cap relief and some picks.

Rozier and Hayward for Westbrook, 2027 and 2029, who says no?

If they were sane, the hornets. But Jordan may be only guy left that likes Westbrook. Ball is a special talent though, and playing alongside Westbrook would not be good for him. I don’t think I’m charlottes market they can afford to punt a year after their best season since peak Kemba with some solid young players. (I also like bridges)

Philly really goofed. Harden has been a disaster and CJ McCollum has been awesome. A trade of Simmons for CJ, straight up, would have Philly in much better shape today and tomorrow.

Would be interesting to see that lineup in an alternate universe. I think the nba is moving away from star hunting at some level. Espn had a long article on it. Like you need the superstar to contend, and a very solid number 2, but the concept of just getting three stars for the sake of it is not as in vogue as it was the last few years. The nba has been successful with these super max contracts making it so hard to get solid role players if you have three max contracts like the lakers.

I think the 76ers would be better with Halliburton and hield (and Drummond and curry) this year and the years ahead. Harden is going to age like milk. I’ll be moderately surprised if harden is even in the league at 35 or 36. Showing now signs of slowing down his partying or improving his conditioning.

How's Westbrook cap relief?  those 2 picks aren't nearly enough for Charlotte to consider taking on the Westbrook headache who's game would not mesh well with Ball.

I'm sure there's some buyer's remorse regarding Hayward but Rozier's been pretty solid for them since they got him.

Hornets would go buy out right away. They’d enter next offseason with all rookie scales and a ton of space for free agents, or to rent out for more draft capital.

NOP are a model franchise right now.

McCollum has 27 at the half. Alvarado with 10. And Herb being Herb.
I love Herb

My favorite player to watch. He seems like a great teammate and person, too.

Been interesting to watch CJ spread his wings in NO.  He was always capable of more than he was doing in Portland IMO.  Can’t help but feel like Portland should have traded him years ago for somebody whose skillset wasn’t redundant with Lillard.  Probably would have benefited both of them, and I think Portland would have gotten a much better return back then compared to the scraps they got this year.

Hindsight is what it is though.

Small market teams risk relocation if they punt seasons like this and risk alienating their young stars to leave (ironically this is part of the reason the pelicans made the McCollum trade). If the hornets give away 2 of their top 5 players for cap relieve and draft picks five years down the road, what does that accomplish for ball and bridges?

I think you’re exactly right on teambuilding philosophy, and Brad Stevens represents a shift in that within the Celtics organization. Danny was always sort of looking to preserve caps space for that big signing and flexibility.

Harden already is not the same player, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the 76ers just let him walk at this point. Obviously a lot depends on the playoffs, and he can still turn it on, but we all know James Harden‘s history in the playoffs, so that’s pretty doubtful.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Pelicans spurs game has gotten absolutely ugly the last few minutes. Spurs back in it cause pelicans have scored 2 points in 4 minutes. Yikes.

He did make all star game for the reason. That being said the poster comparing him to trae young was a bit much. The bigger problem is that it is completely unclear who the second third and 4th best players are on the team. It is a testament to coaching that this team bested a lakers squad with 56 games of Lebron, and a non minimal amount from Davis. Would also have been interesting how Westbrook looked on a different team this year.

Feel like that illness took a lot out of Murray.  Dude is good, but he's visibly not the same tonight.
