I really hope that holds and Embiid or Jokic doesn't make it as a forward.  That would have been a real travesty and if you do keep those 2 guys at center then I really can't see how it isn't Giannis and Tatum on the 1st Team.  2nd Team makes sense as well with Durant and DeRozan with Lebron very close to DeRozan for the 2nd 2nd team spot.  Be interesting to see who makes the 3rd team as the other forward.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

So if a team is voted for two different positions, do they add them together, or does it kind of mess it up for the player? For example is Demar Derozen losing some votes because people are putting in him in at guard? It seems like he is missing some votes. I cant imagine many people that just watched Lebron play 55 games for a near 50 loss team is competitive with Derozen's season.

Unbelievably delusional. All you can do is laugh.

Stefan Bondy: Kyrie Irving is returning (again) to Boston for the playoffs, where he’s been Enemy No. 1 among fans. He’s over it: “I hope we could move past my Boston era and reflect on some of the highlights I left at TD Garden that they can replay. Move forward. Just a new paradigm, baby.”

Brian Lewis: Kyrie Irving, on if he relished the role of Boston villain after stomping on Lucky: “All’s fair in competitions. When emotions are running high anything can happen, and I just want to go in there with a poise and a composure & not pay attention to any of the extra noise.” – via Twitter NYPost_Lewis
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I don't understand how they do it, exactly, but I know last year Tatum had more total points than Kyrie but Kyrie made the final Guard spot even though Tatum was eligible as a Guard or Forward.

If the Celtics get someone on All NBA 1st Team and a DPOY Award, that'll be a nice confidence boost.

The way it works is your point total is combined for the position, but you are ranked by the point total of the position for which you received the most votes.  That’s why last year, Tatum was eligible for both forward and guard, and received more total points than Kyrie, but he was left off All-NBA because he received fewer total points than six other players who also received a majority of their votes at forward.

The great thing about Smart this year is that a few posters (me included) were seeing Smart early in the year (and last year) as not having the same defensive impact as he had earlier in his career. He’s turned that around and now may be DPOY. Hope it gives him impetus to prove he deserves it v. Brooklyn.

He still refuses to believe that his actions are why people in Boston have a problem with him. He doesn't want to take responsibility, but just act like Boston fans are being irrational.

I'm so glad we don't have to deal with him for 82+games anymore
I'm bitter.

Jarrett Allen suiting up for the Cavs tonight is huge for them.  They greatly missed him.

So if Demar gets a decent amount of guard votes he finishes behind Lebron getting all his votes for forward even if Demar gets way more votes. That is not ideal. They got to change this system, it is setting up for a travesty like Embid finishing on third team cause he gets split forward and center votes. I would be fine if they just make it the 5 best players given half the players are eligible at 2 positions and it is creating nonsense.

I wish he had been able to do so against Brooklyn.

Nets would probably be playing tonight if he had. He is a legit all star caliber player.

When is the NBA supposed to announce the winners of these awards? The votes have been all in for a while now I believe.
