Steph with 50 points.

Jokic gonna be suspended for a bunch of games for bodyslamming Morris.

Been quite the day in NBA land.

Bout time somebody took out Morris. Good for Jokic, the suspension is worth it.

Agreed and disagreed.

Blindsided cheap shots aren't my thing.
Not sure I can think of anyone more deserving for that than a Morris twin. A taste of their own medicine, and Jokic was retaliating in the first place.

I do get a chuckle out of NBA players inviting other NBA players to fight out the back. If Jokic's brothers met Jimmy out there he would be gone before you could blink!

Strong night for the west. Was genuinely surprised that Nuggets beat Miami without porter. Lakers
Had a less impressive win blowing a 12 point 4th quarter lead to the fading hornets (but a win is a win). And warriors beat hawks who are probably the only really disappointing east team so far. I do want to see how the nets, bulls, Celtics and bucks fair on their west coast swings.

Now they called a flagrant 2 on Rondo for that head swipe on the back of Terry Rozier. Sheesh the inconsistencies. Show 'em the Jokic-Morris encounter and that's a real flagrant 2.

Also, Carmelo Anthony been balling up lately. Guy might be on to something with the Lakers. Wished Brad picked him up to come off the bench.

How man east west games are there per
Season? I feel like 20-25% of the matchups have already been played. I don’t get why we are discounting the matchups so far like it is 3 games. To be fair the west seems well on track to having a big night. But the three teams I know have played a lot of west teams so far are the magic, hornets and pacers.  The nets have played two western conference teams. Philly has played 3. Magic have played 6.  Hornets 5.
15 teams x 15 teams x playing twice per year = 450 games

Can we all acknowledge that Nikola Jokic is currently the best player in the world?

Sure you could make an argument for either Antetokounmpo, Durant or Curry, but the way Jokic is dominating on all fronts of basketball is a class above everyone in the NBA.

The Hawks are the only disappointing team in the East? Interesting that the defending champion at 4-6 isn't disappointing or the 4-6 Celtics.  Some strange things being stated.

East now has a 22-18 advantage on the season, so a much slimmer lead than a week ago.  As more and more games are played I expect the West to pull ahead as they have more of the better teams.. Maybe I will be wrong on that but I've seen nothing to start the season that would lead me to that conclusion.

I don’t know why you think that Anthony was ever an option for the Celtics.  He’s wanted to play with LeBron for at least 15 years.

As I mentioned above, I expected the East record to take a hit with both Charlotte and the pacers making their west coast trips simultaneously (probably 2 of the bottom 5 times in East and Charlotte has 4 of those loses which is 90% of the gap closed). As for why I said hawks were the only disappointing team it is because they are pretty much at full strength and made the conference finals last year. I would say the bucks have a disappointing record but they have consistently had 2-3 missing starters for many games so I am not ready to call them a disappointment. Celtics probably are a little bit disappointing, but I guess I am personally a little optimistic on them having turned a corner with their games against Orlando, heat and Dallas without brown. They look a lot more engaged that they did the first 5-6 games and maybe our coach has figured things out a little. Hawks are legit disappointing though (much like the Lakers who really should be losing to OKC twice Lebron or not).

Also I don’t really get the point of calling every thing I post “strange” or “weird”. I get it is like a buzzword for you as part of your smartest guy in the room schtick but it kind of loses any potential meaning when you just say it in every post.

Interesting stat.  The Mavericks are 7-3 but have actually been outscored by 23 points on the season as their losses have been by 26, 31, and 15 points.  They only have 2 double digit wins, 10 and last night's 16 (so it was much worse before the Pelican game).  So 5 wins by just 23 points and that is how you can win 70% of your games and yet be outscored by 2.3 ppg.

Interesting. That shows that it pays to be great at squeaker games and not to have sleepwalking games too frequently.

just looked at the Jokic Morris incident again and the way Morris’ head snapped back looks really bad. Also the way Morris hit Jokic could have caused serious injury to Jokic. The NBA needs to ensure players don’t target each other like that.

Agreed. The NBA needs to police it or the players will have to.

Seems like they did in this case with both players getting immediately ejected, although if Jokic hadn't retaliated against Morris I don't think the refs would have gone to the monitor review Morris' shoulder-check on a "take" foul.

Jokic also sounded remorseful in the post-game.  Morris, not so much.

I think Jokic already did the policing. At least for himself. He should be suspended for how forceful he was, but he’s a big guy, there’s gonna be some follow through if he’s got momentum. As for blindsiding Morris, Markeif was an idiot for turning his back on someone HE just blindsided.

Jokic will serve his time, but he sent a very clear message that you don’t want to pull that on him.

That Lakers game was so much fun to watch.
