The amount of technical fouls that Draymond ought to be given but isn't astounds me

Unrelated but cool story.  On JJ's Podcast last week, Jose Alvarado described when he was given his first tech against the Sixers.  He said that Embiid started picking on him and he didn't want to back down, so they kept jawing at each other and eventually got double techs.  Jose complained to the refs because he was on a 2-way contract at the time and a tech came with a fine. At the free throw line, Embiid told Jose he respected that he didn't back down and said "I got you." After the game, Jose was told that Embiid had left him cash to pay for the fine.

Curry turning and heading back on defense while his three is in the air is just cold.

Golden State's offense is scary

Not sure what it would take to acquire Ayton, but to match the salary it would probably require Horford and that would be a hard sell based on how this season went.
I have to admit, it is a tempting offer. I love Al, but how much more does he have in the tank? We could get a young, all-star big man. However, I think the only reason you would do this trade is if you we're super pessimistic about Timelord's long term health.
I think Timelord is just going to be one of those injury prone kind of players.  I think he isn't really going to be able to handle more than 24-28 minutes either without greatly increasing his risk of injury.  I think Ayton will continue to develop his outside shot (he has nice shooting touch) and end up more like Marc Gasol on offense (not the defender Gasol was, but the shooter).  I could absolutely see them playing together for a few minutes each game and both end up in the 28 mpg range, which strikes me as the right amount.  They'd also pose problems for other defenses given their size.

That said, if you don't think that would work, then I'd trade Rob as well.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Luka with a Tatum-like 3rd quarter tonight. And I mean a Miami Heat game 1 Tatum like 3rd quarter.

Only Game 1 and the talent difference is apparent. Luka has to play great going forward.

They are worst conference finals team since us with Tatum brown and rozier. I get it was released Paul was injured but suns were mentally weak and still should have beat them.

Does Timelord's return (where according to CelticsStrong he looks super spry) give you a bit more confidence about his health?

And on the other hand, do you think Ayton can be coached to play defense?

Man the west just wasn’t very good this year. Lakers were completely irrelevant, clippers were never able to get healthy. Denver missed two key players all year. Sacramento, portland, Houston, okc, San Antonio were all just awful, tanking or north. They have to be a lot better next year right? Worst western conference season in a decade probably. Doncic is great but this is how you end up with a team like this in the WCF.

Warriors just have too much firepower…

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I was gonna say...there could be a chance of an NBA Finals rematch...Heat vs Mavs lol

But Warriors are too much for them to handle. And Celtics should take the Heat down in 5 or 6 games.

Really hope you are right on second part. No word on smart or Horford yet?

Injuries have really shaped the playoffs thus far. Embiid with his torn hand ligament, face fracture and concussion. Middleton missing the entire series. Lowry missing a significant stretch for the Heat. CP3 struggling with a quad injury. Murray being out for the Nuggets. Smart, Rob Williams, and now Horford missing several games. It's been a tough postseason. I hope our guys manage to stay on the floor the rest of the way.

You gotta think the NBA really wants the Celtics to get to the Finals. A Celtics-Warriors Finals would be a ratings success and an epic series. A Heat-Warriors Finals would be a dud, worse than the last time the Heat made the Finals in the bubble.
