Dame was asked who he would choose to make a title run....his response, "Giannis"

Wonder if the Bucks are gonna unload their solid players for Dame

Injuries have really shaped the playoffs thus far. Embiid with his torn hand ligament, face fracture and concussion. Middleton missing the entire series. Lowry missing a significant stretch for the Heat. CP3 struggling with a quad injury. Murray being out for the Nuggets. Smart, Rob Williams, and now Horford missing several games. It's been a tough postseason. I hope our guys manage to stay on the floor the rest of the way.

You gotta think the NBA really wants the Celtics to get to the Finals. A Celtics-Warriors Finals would be a ratings success and an epic series. A Heat-Warriors Finals would be a dud, worse than the last time the Heat made the Finals in the bubble.

I agree but think the heat are actually better off without Lowry at this point.

That's how I think it'll play out.  Mildly worried about missing Horford for another game, though.

is it really any different than any other year?  Key guys get hurt and miss playoff games every year.

Picking this up, I was surprised that DAL beat PHO, I think a lot of people were surprised.  But I am not sure if what happened was Dallas being better than I thought or Phoenix being worse than I thought.  Based on Game 1 against GSW, it looks like it was more Phoenix being bad rather than Dallas being good.   Dallas beat Utah, Utah had not been good for most of the second half of the season so I don't think that series told much about Dallas.  They beat a mediocre playoff team in 6 games, OK.  Then the PHO series and again, I am just not so sure what that confirmed about Dallas.

I have said earlier that none of the teams in the West scare me as much as who we will have to beat to get to the finals.  I continue to not believe in Dallas.  I could be proven wrong but I just don't see it.  GSW is a bit more of a mystery.  Based on what I saw during the season, I am not that impressed.  But they now have Thompson back and in mid season form plus Green seems to be healthy after playing only 46 games on the season, and I don't know what to make of Poole.  And of course Curry is Curry.  So how good is GSW?  Better than MIL?  Better than MIA?  Better than DAL?  Did GSW beating DEN and MEM (with limited Ja Morant) prove anything?  If they beat DAL, what will that tell us?

I actually got an upset tonight. I think Dallas wins Game 2.

Dallas is just like the C's in that when there's some adversity, they are resilient and bounce back. Doncic leads the charge and I think he'll do the same tonight. I'd be shocked if Doncic had two rough games in a row

I think defining what Dallas is is still very much TBD.  Same for GSW.  The thing with GSW is that they are not the team now that they were all season.  They won 53 games, same as MIA, but are clearly better now than at any point in the season due to Thompson and Green being healthy.  Dallas has pretty much the same personnel that they had all season but somehow found a way to beat PHO.  They seemed to play better as the season went along and as the playoffs have gone on, but I am not sure I can explain why.

I don't think the point with Dallas is that they are the same as us in terms of matching personnel or roster or whatever.  What is similar is that they seem to have the ability to play better than is expected.  To be resilient, to respond to adversity.  We shall see how well that resiliency holds up against GSW.

I mean that's literally not what I said. I simply said they respond to adversity just like the Celtics have. I wasn't comparing rosters

I got Dallas winning tonight 111-106, Doncic puts up 37, 1 of Dinwiddie or Brunson gets 25+

I wouldn't give up on Dallas just yet. Their guards and wings can really light it up, and they overachieve on defense.

The Warriors are not the same team that won 3 titles. They have older legs and less depth.

With that being said, CP3 looked cooked in that last series. A massive defensive liability that caused breakdowns that led to open 3s.

We've seen that here, unfortunately, with IT and Kemba. It is a death sentence against elite teams.

Dallas will have to work much harder here. Both teams are thin inside. Draymond will be the key to the series. I think he anchors that defense well enough to win.

Both teams are going to have trouble inside against the Celtics though,  which is a big reason why we should be championship favorites. Rob and Al are unbelievable together when they are healthy.

Yeah, after one game it seems quick to give up on a team that just came back from down 2-0.
