Overall, I’m not feeling very confident in this teams shooting ability. Tatum, Brown and Horford are consistent. I’m hoping that Pritchard and Nesmith will fall into that category as well, but they are only going into their second year, so it’s too soon to tell.

Schroder, Smart, Richardson, Juan, Grant, Romeo, Parker have been inconsistent throughout their careers. Timelord, Kanter, Fernando can’t really shoot at all.  I think the C’s need to have 3 shooters on the court at all time.

Also, didn’t realize how bad Josh Richardson’s shooting Mechanics are. Stroke looks worse than Smarts... starting to feel buyers remorse and wish the C’s found a way to keep Fournier. Hopefully Brad brings in another shooter before the deadline.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Richardson didn't look good last night, I feel the same.  He has been a full time starter for the last 4 seasons averaging about 14 pts in about 32 minutes.  Now he is coming off the bench and will probably play more like 24 min.  I am not feeling any remorse, at least not yet.  It is just one preseason game.  But he was choppy.

I’d feel a lot better if we had Fournier instead of Richardson.  I’m hoping Nesmith can grow into that role this season.

It depends on the offense they want to run and if guys step up to shoot league avg or better. I would have preferred Fournier over Richardson and it's not close.

Markkenan would have been good on this team too if they could have used Fournier exemption on him. That's the one that hurts right now.

Smart, Brown, Tatum, TL, Marrkanen
Schro, Langford, Nesmith, Parker, Horford
Pritchard, Grant, Bruno, Kanter

Choppy is a good word. His shot selection wasn’t any better than the execution - he kept trying to create midrange jumpers off the bounce. Not many players can hit that efficiently and he certainly missed his…

We have Pritchard, Nesmith, Hauser, and Mathews as shooters.

Two second year players and two guys that may never see the court. Don’t feel great about that.

3 of our clear best 7 can’t shoot. It was always gonna be a problem.

Too bad we didn't keep Bane. He can shoot.

I think we'll be okay, because I have faith in both Nesmith and PP to be worthy of serious minutes. Juancho is an average-ish shooter from deep too, which can be useful to pair alongside Timelord.

It's certainly going to be a concern, but if Smart can get back to that 36% 3PT shooting he averaged over 2018-2020 then I think that will go a long way to softening the blow.

Yeah, he would've been such a good fit, short arms and all!

Think I have more faith in Richardson having a season where he shoots 36% or better from 3pt. He’s done it 3 times. Smart has had only 1 season in 7 years of playing where he shot better than 35% from deep. Seems like an anomaly to me. They both have bad shooting mechanics.

You'll forget all about him when Garrison Matthews becomes the next JJ Redick
