Wonder if the C's would have interest.  I would have said Brooklyn but they just signed Milsap.

LaMarcus Aldridge has been medically cleared to resume his playing career, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Aldridge was a member of the Nets when he abruptly announced his retirement from the NBA in mid-April due to an irregular heartbeat. However in early August it was reported that Aldridge, after consulting with medical professionals, was considering a return to the NBA. Now that he's been medically cleared to do so, the 15-year vet can now focus on finding a team. And, according to Charania, the Nets are considered to be the favorites to sign Aldridge.

probably be Brooklyn, but I think he should go back to Portland.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Of course...

Shams Charania: Seven-time NBA All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge has been cleared to play again, passing all of the necessary tests, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The Nets are leaders to sign Aldridge, sources said.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

If I was Aldridge, I wouldn’t risk it..I would retire
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

You would have interest in him playing on the C’s? Whose minutes would you like to see him take between Horford, Timelord or Kanter. Not sure he’s better than any of those guys at this stage.

Between Millsap and Aldridge, it looks like Alize Johnson is going to be out of a job.  He's someone I'd be very interested in taking a flyer on if he's released at the end of camp, over a Bruno Fernando, for instance.

I'd rather have Kanter than Aldridge. I'd take him over Big Al for contract purposes, but otherwise, Al is the better player at this point.

I would say it would be a Parker vs Aldridge

He’s going to start playing power forward again at this age, as the game has shifted away from even prime Aldridge being a PF?

He’d be trying to fit in the center rotation, which is pretty full.

What are the chances that he adds less to the team at power forward than Williams?

Grant can actually play the position.  If he's the backup PF, is that a weakness on the team?  Sure.  But what's your other choice -- splitting the minutes between Tatum and Brown?  Playing Nesmith there?  I know you like Jabari Parker, but even if he beats Grant out for the backup job (which I do not think is a given), what in Parker's 7-year career gives you the comfort he'll be available for more than half the games?  There's a 20-25 minute hold in the rotation for the minutes that went to Grant and Semi last year, but Aldridge isn't the guy to fill those minutes, and the options that we currently have other than some Grant/Parker timeshare are even worse, so it is not a case of addition by subtraction.

I'd take Johnson for Parker's unguaranteed contract if The Nets want to dump him to sign Aldridge.
