Man...look at that wingspan. His length has always amazed me. I loved him in college and was so excited when he dropped into Ainge's lap.

I think he takes a big jump forward this year as a starter and will be a major difference maker for the Celtics.

Knicks select Lauri Markkanen if for no reason than to have the option of once in awhile trotting out a semi-functional giant sized lineup of:

G: Doncic (6-8)
F: Jonathan Isaac (6-11 3/4)
F: Micheal Porter Jr (6-10)
F: Lauri Markkanen (7 feet)
C: Gobert (7-2 feet)

I couldn't resist!

In the normal days of Knicks life, Markkanen gives us a 7 footer who can shoot lights out. A different option than our two defensive paint dwellers of Gobert & Mitchell Robinson and our backup PF/SF/C versatile defender Jonathan Isaac who has a somewhat dependable jump-shot. Markkanen can be used as a stretch PF next to the defensive centers or an offensive five in a five-out setup where desired.
