Cool. I am going to take a guy I have come close to drafting in the 4th round, 5th round, 6th round, 7th round and now finally in the 8th round I'm going to take my guy.

Knicks pick Jonathan Isaac.

I was just researching him.  What's your thought on his injury?  He's still in a brace 13 months after surgery, and isn't sure he'll be ready for opening night.  A 15 month recovery from an ACL is almost unheard of these days.  Did something go wrong?

But, the defensive potential particularly is sky high.  I wouldn't have liked him at all in the 4th, but in the 8th it's solid.

I did not know he was still in a brace. I heard he was doing very well. Back on the court shooting again. I have seen anywhere from opening night to early December for his recovery. I am not that worried about ACL injuries anymore. Guys come back from those at 90+%. It's the achilles injuries and back / neck injuries that freak me out. I get worried about knee ones if there are multiple injuries (knee or other areas). But that is me, others may feel different.

I watched an interview (30-45min) of him a few days ago. He was in great spirits and looking forward to next season. Happily talking about religion for the last 10-15mins. Seems like a happy sort of chap. Enjoys life. Good happy go lucky honest guy.

My main concern with Isaac is can he shoot the 3 consistently enough to be a candidate to be a full time starting PF on a team with Gobert (paint dweller) at center. I was unsure which is why I passed on him in the earlier rounds.

I love Jonathan Isaac as a player. His defense is amazing, and his offense is developing at a steady rate when he's healthy... which feels like never. Dude can't stay healthy. It sucks, but I put him in my borderline undraftable category, for that reason.

Nice pick.  I think I like Hardaway Jr. better than Hield.

Oh no! I was hoping he'd slip to me on the way back and was debating whether he or White would be more likely to slip. Love Powell at this point.

RG87 - how are you thinking about defending guards, particularly the quicker ones? With Irving and then players I'd put in the same defensive positional category (OG, Powell, Hayward, Demar), I'm not sure you have anyone guarding real guards (or even two-guards). OG might be able to do it, but he's a little better IMO against 3s. I guess we'll see who you pick in one minute :)

He's really come good recently. High efficiency scoring inside and outside the arc. A weird size, but he's very stout.

Ahh, I thought I'd have a shot at Derrick White in the 10th round.

Nice player. I like that he can play both guard positions well. A defensive role player who can handle the ball well, pass okay (subpar for PG, solid for SG) and shoot okay. More well rounded than most role players.

Love Bobby Portis now that he's an elite 3 point shooter.

There's a still some solid defensive guards hanging around that I can pick up in later rounds. So far, I like my size, switchability, and shooting.

I was literally just wondering where he'd go.  It's hard to beat a big man who hits 47% of his threes.

Bobby Portis always looks like he's one bad day away from snapping someone's neck, with those eyes.  ;D
