Not impressed with Cade thus far. Turning the ball over(3 TO to 1 assist)defense is suspect. Hasn’t been able to get to the rim.  Green looks like the better prospect.
His far from elite decision-making has been on show. I tried to tell some people! ;D

Yeah I’m on the same boat, his college season he averaged more turnovers then assists. Hayes has better vision IMO.

Just comparing him to Tatum in summer league and he doesn't seem like a top pick.

I’ve never understood the hype around Cade. People comparing him to Luka and saying that he is a transcendent talent...I just don’t see it. For the record, I hope Cade turns out to be a star player, Detroit has been really bad for 15+ years..

Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:
Quote
At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I love how Pokusevski didn’t turn up to Summer League, that fits perfectly with his playing attitude.

I could seem him saying, “Me? Summer League! Poku is above this level.”
Rarely do you see such a terrible rookie get so overrated. He is one of the worst offensive players I have ever seen! OKC did a bad thing by enabling those tendencies rather than reigning him in I think. He should have been moulded into a Diaw type forward and spent his first couple of seasons barely shooting.

It was probably all part of Presti’s tanking strategy lol

Yeah I agree, by enabling him they are just creating a monster.

Pokusevski even turned down the chance to play for Serbia in the off-season, so it shows his level of individualism.

Individualism or work ethic?

For the Celtics, the two best looking players by a wide margin have been Pritchard and Nesmith, and I don't think it's even close. I like what I have seen from Hauser, Begarin and Yam but think they would benefit from playing a lot of G League minutes in the Celtics system. Sadly, Romeo and Edward's have been disappointing. No one else on this SL team matters.

Half right half wrong. Nesmith was not one of two best players today. Several outplayed him. I was disappointed in his lack of feel out there. Hope it was just first game jitters.

I think he should spend a couple seasons eating. He is almost Manute Bol skinny....and that's not a good thing.

I didn’t watch the game but it seems like people’s reception of him here is pretty lukewarm.

I binged some Cade highlights some time last year and walked away… just mildly impressed. I don’t think he’ll be a bad player but I couldn’t see how we could trade someone of Jaylen Brown’s caliber for the off-chance that this guy might turn into an allstar (which I don’t think he will be, although his #1 overall status might give him a chance)

Manute level skinny with Antoine Walker level confidence in his shooting

There are posters over on Celticsblog that have raved about Poku since before he was drafted. I never saw the fascination and let them know and boy, the blowback I got. Walls and walls of text telling me about his dribbling and ball handling ability, his playmaking ability, his awesome shooting, his BBIQ.

I saw none of it other than yeah, for a 7 footer he can dribble and handle the ball well. But, I realized it was worthless arguing as the same guy said in another thread he didn't like D'Aaron Fox because he was too skinny, but somehow loved Poku in a point whatever role(point guard or forward or center). Go figure. Fox is approaching All-Star level play but somehow this guy preferred Poku

Yeah, he'll be good but doesn't look like a crazy alpha like Luka. I don't think forcing Cade to be a point or even a guard is doing him any favors. He's better off as a forward.

It took me so long to realise that TM3 was Trey Murphy. Who I can't help but confuse with Troy Murphy, name-wise. Gah!

Both those guys can really play. The Grizz have a ton of good young talent.

Have you seen Alperen Sengun yet? He's a solid bigman.
