Did we learn nothing from watching the Red Sox blunder away Mookie with their fiscally irresponsible decisions?Just slinging money around blindly isn't the answer. Throwing $80M at Fournier won't win us a championship, but it could sure as hell lose us Tatum and/or Brown if it hamstrings our efforts to land players who would actually make a difference. I'm all for spending the right money on the right players. Not interested in overpaying Fournier though.
