Nesmith played last year with no summer league, no preseason, and limited in-season practice. He showed far more hops and general athleticism than I realized. Towards the end of the season, he actually started to look comfortable on offense. So yes, I like Nesmith. I don't mind trading him for value but he is no throw in. I would like to see what he has. There could be significant improvement this season.
But I like all our young guys, Langford, Pritchard, and now add Moses Brown as right there with Nesmith. All are young but have demonstrated the ability to play in the NBA. None of these 4 project to be super stars but I feel like all of them can be useful players, fringe starter rotation players next season and likely more for several years to come. I feel all of these young players have some meaningful ceiling to potentially realize.
I like Robert Williams too but I see him as closer to his ceiling. He certainly could improve more than I expect but with him, I feel he kind of is what he is. Grant Williams and Carson Edwards are (or should be) end of the bench guys and in that role are useful but far more expendable than our other young players. I don't see a lot of unrealized ceiling in Grant or Carson.
