Lakers just signed Nunn.

How do they find the salary room?

If they are all signing vet min deals then they can fit as many of them as they want.

It's hard to compete with a team that is consistently convincing players to take less money to play for them.
It is plus Lakers probably pay more under the table

Oh yeah, that goes without saying.

Per Mark Murphy: the Cs are not expected to use the MLE this summer.

So basically don’t expect them to make any more moves. Wow. Just awful.

yeah I just posted the same thing about 5 slots above you. lol
but it is so awful might as well have it in there twice.

'Mark Murphy
@Murf56
Celtics' priority, according to league source, is to retain a "salary structure" that makes it possible to sign a "major" player when he comes available, most likely next summer. Good chance they don't use the $5.7 taxpayers mid-level this time around.'

If this is to be believed, now the FO won't even use the MLE for a one year deal?  omg this is just overkill.

That is embarrassing and moronic.

When GSW believed they had Durant’s commitment, they simply dumped players for space, because what rational GM wouldn’t take free talent signed long term? This was after back to back finals appearances.

If the Celtics had signed Fournier to an equivalent Knicks contract and he performed well his first year, the Celtics would receive assets from a team or simply put Fournier in a sign and trade for Beal, their logic makes no sense unless the owners want to be cheap and don’t care about being competitive.

Hard to infer a lot from the Tatum quote, but it doesn't sound overly optimistic.

'Jayson Tatum on #Celtics trades: “You always hate to see guys leave, especially guys you build a relationship with. I guess that’s the nature of it. As a player all you can do is show up for training camp and whoever is there is there and get ready to play.” #Celtics #Tokyo2020'

So who has even left the team.  We traded Moses Brown who he never played with and Fournier who only played a half a season.  I get Kemba Walker but Al Horford is someone who he played with in 2017 and 2018.  I suspect he was thinking Kemba but really, there is less turn over on this team this season than pretty much any other team (that is what everyone is complaining about).

Derozan to the Bulls, 3 years at $85m

https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1422649013069832193

Hmm ... I like that.

G: Lonzo
G: LaVine
F: DeRozan
F: Patrick Williams / Markkanen
C: Vucevic

I like the lineup more with Patrick Williams than Markkanen. Williams is a better forward than Markkanen because of his superior speed, handles, passing, defensive versatility.
Bulls have three guys who can handle/initiate offense from the wings and all have excellent size. Promising stuff in Chicago.

The Bulls are now a real threat to Boston for one of those final playoff spots.

I think we can infer that ownership was not thrilled with how things went this past season, and they don't have a lot of faith in the core of this team as constructed.  Not worth spending the money, even for one year.  They've put all their eggs in next summer.

If things don't go as planned next summer, I think we could be in for drastic and unpleasant measures.

I thought the ATL-SAC-New Team deal was still in the works?

Once ATL is finished with Collins, I think they will be ready to do something.

He must be crestfallen over Tacko Fall leaving

Hmm, we had number of starting line ups, I assume you mean Kemba as a starter (fair) but are you counting Thompson (who we haven't traded yet) and Theis (who was traded months ago)?  Fournier did start 11 games, but is he a "starter"?

Tatum           64
Brown           58
Smart           45
Thompson     43
Walker          43

...are the players that started the most games.  Theis started 39.  If Thompson is traded, then you can start to say the team had some turnover I guess.
