I'm a fan of Grant. I think he's a better role player than this blog gives him credit for. He's a good helpside defender and a good one-on-one defender. He's switched onto small guards in big moments and made stops. He hustles hard. He's really intelligent and keeps the ball moving. Now he's hitting more threes too.
He may not be a starter right now, but I think he's an ideal 9-10th man. If you expected Draymond Green, I can see why you'd be disappointed, but he's a good bench role player.
Sounds like someone that needs to be paid the vet minimum.
Sure. I'm not disagreeing, but he's still a good player to have on your team. This thread is treating our "roster spots" like they are a valuable assets that aren't worth using for Grant Williams. I think he's the perfect guy for your 9th-12th roster spot.
I still remember last post-season where he blocked FVV to seal a playoff win for the Cs. He's been a player that has made big plays in big moments for the Cs. I wish he could be a starting switchy four like PJ Tucker, but at this point in his career, he's just not that guy. But he is tough, smart, hard-working, somewhat switchy, an unselfish player, and an improving outside shooter.
