Don't trade Romeo 0r Aaron Nesmith

Romeo's defense is special with his length and ability to contort he body mid air not to foul and still contest the shot.His block of Harden comes to mind.Then there was the block on baseline after Prithard got beat two hands up going vertical at rim..I think,he disguises that almost 7ft wingspan with a sort padded physique and lfuidity.
Nesmith on the other hand is cut and threw himself around contesting everything Another huge wingspan and more  athletically-inclined than we were told.Almost qualified for fast in open court while Romeo smoothly changes gears and fearlessly takes charges .Both weakside rebound and cut backdoor
Nesmith was picked for 3 pt prowess for only a first half a season due to injury.
We now have Timelord, Pritchard and Williams (Marcus,Brown and Tatum with Rozier getting away and losing Kelly to Miami in free agency.
Lets grow a team like San Antonio did or Phoenix has done

Got to give something to get something, so I disagree with the title, though your points about these two kids are valid.

Phoenix -  CP3 made the difference for that team.  They are a bad example.

A couple of points are coming out of this.  One is that we have done a pretty good job of building the team through the draft (Tatum, Brown, Smart, Williams, Williams, Langford, Nesmith, Pritchard).  I think Rollie is saying stay with this.  The more you can build through the draft, the better, but no team that contends for a title is going to build solely through the draft.  We have had worse luck with the FAs/major trades we have done (Kyrie, Horford, Hayward, Walker) but most teams need to add a player or two this way to get over the top.

As to trading Langford and Nesmith, certainly no need to trade them just to trade them but I am open to trading one or both if it improves the team.  I like both players and hope we don't trade them, it all depends on the deal.  I would trade one or both for an upgrade at PF for example.

Both need to make significant strides to become non-tradable. If there's one thing I've learned watching the playoffs is the Celtics need veteran bench help in the worst-way-possible.

This year, without seeing major improvement from both would be their last.

I'm on team Rollie: Don't trade them. Particularly as their projected future value (in my head) far exceeds current market value.  I particularly am bullish on Romeo's future in the league as an elite multi-positional defender who will make solid offensive contributions when given opportunities.

It really depends on what you were being offered for them.  I do not think that either of them is in high demand or would bring back a good asset. Neither of these is guys are not good enough to be considered off market to trades and it is ludicrous to suggest otherwise.

A couple of thoughts:
1. We currently have 4 developmental prospects (Timelord, Nesmith, Romeo, Pritchard) that need minutes to see what’s there or develop what’s there. I wouldn’t put Grant or Carsen in that category. If they surprise from here on out great, but they haven’t earned developmental opportunities yet.
2. Having moved the 16th pick, we can probably afford to give all 4 of those guys some developmental rotation minutes if we choose to keep them all. If we had kept the 16th pick, I think something else would have had to give with one or more of these prospects. We would have had too much of the roster dedicated to developmental prospects (like last year).
3. I wouldn’t give away any of these 4 prospects, but I also wouldn’t let any one of them hold up a deal that makes us better (especially if it helps us net a player we view as a clear starter along with Tatum, Brown, and Smart). 
4. Specific to Nesmith/Langford, it seems like a luxury to have two developmental prospects at the wing spot when our two best players are also wings. It can be done (especially with Tatum’s ability to play the 4), but I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to include one of them in the right deal.

Probably right as far as making the finals....but I think their 8`0 bubble run was with Rubio and they looked very good.  I think any good point guard and that team was going to be a tough out.

They've also shown they don't fall apart when Paul is out...

Too much is made of the "Spurs way". The reason the Spurs way of doing things worked was because they had one of the all time great big men, and a perennial all star point guard (thanks, Red).

they're already better than Young so they won't become him.  Both of them showed they could develop into solid players for us towards the end of the year and playoffs.  Give them both a full training camp while they're healthy and I suspect all but the most bitter haters will be pleased with their contributions this coming season.
