I found this tidbit through a little research interesting:

Udoka was also the key for LaMarcus Aldridge's decision to join the Spurs in 2015. Both Udoka and Aldridge played together with the Trail Blazers during Aldridge's rookie season.

At the time, Aldridge was a max player all star talent who was attracted by Udoka. Now clearly it was because they played together. But with this as a backdrop, is it fair to say he may target players he had key relationships with at his recent teams?

Spurs: Murray, White
Nets: Dinwiddie
Blazers: Lillard (ahem), McCollum

I don't know, but I sure hope he had a great relationship with Embiid.

That's what I'm talking about

Side note: Tatum and Lillard on team USA next month

Not going to comment on whether he'll attract elite talent or not, but personally I had an urgency to get a head coach now than just waiting for the supposed right one to come along. Bringing Udoka right now, someone that seems respected is important to begin the draft/FA seasons... going into that without the coaching issues settled would've been a bad way to go, so I'm glad we found our guy fairly quickly.

I don't want elite talent with alot of baggage (Kyrie, Harden, etc.)

I just want a very good player who will buy in with the team.

A bit off topic but i think this will make a lot of people happy. JB on his relationship with JT:

And these guys vouched for Udoka to be the new head coach. Excited for this new chapter in Celtics basketball.  If they buy into Udoka’s philosophy and if Udoka can surround them with complimentary pieces, then maybe we have something special brewing here.

I don’t get this take
He signed or traded for  kg, ray, horford, Hayward, KI, and KW.
Pretty clear track record of bringing in stars

Yeh it's not like he had a chance to have LeBron walking through that door.

Um

Yeh. That's a new take. "Danny didn't hire enough divas".

Count me puzzled.
