I don't get the fascination with players who will certainly get paid next season. It's better to find player like vetarans like Horford who were rotting on lottery teams as they are affordable.

If you want a solid glue guys, you scout underachieving teams with talented players who were probably underutilized, not guys who were performing excellent right now.
Confused by this. Veterans "like Horford" meaning what? Guys that have been overpaid by somebody else?
Horford is much easier to move than Kemba. That's the type of "overpaid" vet you'd like to take a gamble. If it didn't work out, you can always move him. And he's a better "bang for buck" in contrast to Kemba who is pretty much useless due to injuries and other player limitations.

Horford is a proven player who works well under a well-ran system. I'm confident our new coach will utilize him well as well as Moses Brown.

#45 will hopefully be signing a two-way, and hopefully we can dump  Edwards.

Thinking about how we traded draft picks to pick up Edwards and Williams.  I know it was a couple trades with Philly and then Phoenix, right?

Would we have done better just to keep the original pick and draft Thybulle?

Probably, although I think Brandon Clarke was our reported target.

Danny knew he had to trade a #1 to dump Baynes' salary, along with picking up the future Milwaukee pick.  He knew he had to include a #1.  He didn't think it was good value to trade either the #20 or the #22, so he traded back in hopes of accomplishing two goals:  supplying the Suns with a first rounder, while also landing a good prospect.

So, Danny saw his options as:

1.  Trade Baynes + #22 for the Bucks pick; or

2.  Trade Baynes + #20 for the Bucks pick and #33

The decision made sense from a value standpoint, but it definitely hasn't worked out.  We would have been better off just staying at #20.

I wouldn't mind a Jeff Green reunion. Rudy Gay could be a realistic target too.
Wonder what Markiff will command on the market?
Had a down year with the lakers. Would be awesome to get some Morris back in Boston.

Neither are building blocks, but in my ideal world we sign Olynyk and Patty Mills.  I also really like Otto Porter.

You're reading my mind.  Olynyk is probably the best fit (at the right price).

I wish there was a way to trade for Lonzo to fill the PG slot.  Smart + ??? could that get it done?

Unless we manage to open up the non-tax MLE, I don't think a building block type of player is in our price range. I also think we need to prioritize getting another vet or two in that locker room.

Otto would be a guy I'd love to get as well, but he's a big wing under 30 that can defend and shoot. I'd be surprised if a team doesn't offer him the non-tax MLE.

Green, Olynyk, Millsap or Gay at the forward spot would be great for our bench.

At the guard spot I like TJ McConnell. Too bad we can't steal Conley

If I remember it right, he almost came to Boston last season but decided otherwise because he didn’t want to uproot his family in Denver. He just signed a one year deal with Denver though so who knows. He’d be a nice vet coming off the bench.
