Wow, good on Brad!

I think this is a good sign. The fact that he wasn’t scared to upset Kemba/one of our players in a trade bodes well for us and his potential as a GM.

Well that is interesting.

I actually like Moses Brown, makes giving up the 1st a little more palatable.

So current roster

PG - Pritchard, Edwards
SG - Smart, Langford
SF - Brown, Nesmith
PF - Tatum, Parker, G. Williams
C - R. Williams, Horford, Thompson, Brown

Unsigned F.A. - Fournier, Ojeleye, Kornet

Way too many centers and gaping hole at PG.

Brad is just getting started

I predict Thompson will be traded next

Also think Celts sign one of Forbes, Sterling Brown or Caruso

Glad to see Stevens did not over value the #16 pick. He’s had enough of the Celtics accumulating mediocre young prospects on the bench who leave the coach with nobody who can complement his young stars enough to compete

It also may be a deal that is forced by ownership.   A limit based around the tax.   That 9 million less there allows them to resign Fournier within the range.  It also allows then to move onto the next part (which now looks like moving Thompson)

What if: Dinwiddie opts in for Brooklyn and we trade TT and whatever it takes for Dinwiddie?

Edwards and Grant should be goners.

I think Smart will be the PG assuming we don't make more moves and we will.   I think Brown will play shooting guard at present.  Al may play 4, with either Rob or Brown at 5,   Tatum could play 3 this way.

I think this deal is going to cause another shoe to drop.

I like getting Brown.   I too think this mandates trading Thompson

Maybe Stevens was not the small ball guy after all?

I like Horford. I don't like the trade.

Most deals happen on draft night/at the deadline for a reason. Teams are unwilling to lower their asking price prior to the draft night unless they are desperate to make a trade. It's when they run out of time on draft night that they finally compromise regarding their asking price. To put it another way, trade negotiations are like the game of chicken. Whomever backs down first loses the game. The C's backed down first and they got fleeced. Our rookie GM made a rookie mistake. I miss Danny already.
Welcome Al, but I am with you for most... Not sure that a NY, Pels or Mavs wouldn't crack and give something better for Walker. But not agree for the Ainge missing on this. Our 16* pick lost to get rid of Walker is another illustration of his bad choices lately.
Now we have also to find a way to get rid of Thompson (as Horford and Brown are good 2 and 3 options at C) and we are in a need mindset in the market

Where's the better deal? I don't see it. Al has $27million owed this year, and $26.5 Million which is only 50% guaranteed next season. He's going to contribute. People want to take the one Philly season and pronounce Al washed. To get Moses Brown too is just a cherry on top.
We're about 1.5 month away from draft night. Anything can happen till then. What if the Clips lose to the Jazz and they become desperate (especially since Kawhi has a player option)? What if the Sixers lose to the Hawks and they decide to shake things up? What if the Knicks strike out in free agency and they get interested in Kemba?

Imo, this is an overpay on our part. In a vacuum, Kemba is the best player in the deal. Sure, he's ovepaid, but the same goes for Horford. Really don't think we should have included #16. First round picks are valuable assets.

Good trade if your name is Yam Madar, bad trade if you're a C's fan

No Fournier please

I didnt even think he was a Brad type player

Average Al should be well rested for next season.

I’m good with it.  I miss Horford, and Marcus can run point.

I’m curious about Moses Brown.  He put up some crazy numbers at times.

I think he put up a 20/20 game against us this year.

That doesn't mean a whole lot.

Very surprised by the negativity here by some. Not sure what people expected to get rid of Kemba’s contract. You weren’t going to get a star in return.

Thought Brad did a good job of getting pieces that fit on the roster and saving some money as well. Losing the first was tough but it was always going to be the cost of doing business to unload that deal.

There is going to be another shoe to drop at some point likely with TT so we’ll see what happens with that. Also think it makes it much likelier case that Fournier is signed now. So between trading TT/rest of Hayward TPE, Cs could fill out the roster with some solid role players are JB/JT.

Why??

With Kemba traded. Dont have to worry about his knees or defensive liability

The Brown pickup was nice
