Well that is interesting.
I actually like Moses Brown, makes giving up the 1st a little more palatable.
So current roster
PG - Pritchard, Edwards
SG - Smart, Langford
SF - Brown, Nesmith
PF - Tatum, Parker, G. Williams
C - R. Williams, Horford, Thompson, Brown
Unsigned F.A. - Fournier, Ojeleye, Kornet
Way too many centers and gaping hole at PG.
No, I think the starting lineup will be:
Smart
Langford
Brown
Fournier (if we re-sign him) or Nesmith (if we don't)
Tatum
Horford
PP won't start as PG, IMO. Of course, that will be decided by our next coach. But if Brad were coaching them, this is what I predict he would do, especially given how well Langford finished the season.
That is 6 players. And yeah, Smart probably starts at point with a re-signed Fournier, I just don't think Smart should be a starting PG. It isn't his skill set. He is fine playing back-up minutes at PG, I just don't want him starting and playing that minutes at PG. I do also think Horford starts with Williams and Brown backing him up. That would save the younger guys and the team could use Horford's passing and outside shooting in the starting lineup. Without any other trades and bringing back Fournier I'd essentially see the rotation as something like this.
PG - Smart 32, Pritchard 16
SG - Fournier 30, Brown 8, Langford 10
SF - Brown 26, Tatum 10, Nesmith 12
PF - Tatum 26, Thompson 15, G. Williams/Ojeleye 7
C - Horford 20, R. Williams/Brown 28
I think the actual starting lineup would be Smart, Brown, Tatum, Thompson, Horford
Team is a bit more cohesive than last year, but isn't any closer to actually contending unless Moses Brown becomes Dwight Howard in his prime.
That said, I can't see that team taking the floor next year. My guess is Smart and Thompson are going to be moved for a PG.
