We need a whole new backcourt
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I hope this is true bc it would mean Kemba is essentially on a 1yr contract

what about the player option?

If Kemba really wants a break up he doesn't pick up the option

Money talks

No way he walks away from that lotto ticket

Everyone said the same thing about Hayward and then he walked right into another mega-deal.

Hayward to Kemba is different

Hayward size/versatility is a big advantage.  He also did a major overhaul/surgery/recovery from his accident

Kemba is just "nursing" his knee.  Just management mode the rest of the way

I would love Bogdonovic and Holiday

But it won't happen

any GM dumb enough to take on that contract doesn't belong in a front office position.

This is the best C’s news I’ve heard in a while....
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Dallas be good place for Kemba & Drummond to go along with Luka but I don’t think Porzingis would be a good fit here

I don't think so, for me we need an healthier and at least average defensively PG and a stretch 4. Jaylen at 2 with Smart and Pritchard coming from the bench is a very good base at Guards

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Let's hold our horses here. From Kedow Walker, Kemba's cousin:

Sources: Both the Boston Celtics and Kemba Walker want a breakup. The team tried trading him once in 2020, and it put a strain on the relationship since then.

A source close to Walker said he was hurt by Boston's efforts to trade him, which created a rift in the Walker-Ainge relationship. Walker has a great relationship with his teammates and looked forward to being a veteran mentor to Tatum and Brown, but the same can't be said about Walker and the front office. He no longer feels wanted.

I saw that post too, but I think the whole ‘report’ is rubbish.

When a non-reputable journalist publishes an insider report without listing their source, it’s worthless information in my eyes.

TP

Certainly doesn't look like a credible report to me. Seems like a lot of this the last few days.

Any NBA GM is ready to trade any player that isn't Michael freaking Jordan (he got traded to a baseball team) at any time.

It is the GM's job to win.

List a Celtics player who wasn't ever under consideration to be traded by Ainge.

List all of the "home grown" title teams of the last 15 years, I'm sure there are some, but the other GM's have to do their jobs.

If a star shoots his way out of town? That means the star is the "GM" and he's "trading himself".

Correct.  But I bet he'd be willing to even sit out that last season and collect his $37 million if he has to.  No one's walking away from that kind of cash as no team will pay him anything close to that moving forward.
