C's absolutely need to go outside to hire a coach, not anyone currently with the team....Billups would be great or J.Howard. Players need a new voice and a new direction, or it won't work.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

So I'm a bit confused. Is Brad becoming general manager, or is he going to be president of basketball operations? Because I would really like Zarren as gm and Brad as president.

This reeeeeeks of Wyc cheapness.

IMO Ainge was the actual person whom was burnt out or perhaps the Kyrie/IT optics have tainted Danny’s reputation with players and agents making his role untenable. But instead of having to eventually pay out and replace Brad as well, Wyc just shifts him into a presidential management role, saving him a few bucks.

How many people on here have said Stevens is too passive, well as a GM you have to be even more cut throat. Just look at every successful GM and they are ruthless (Red, Bird, Riley, Morey, Ujiri)…something Stevens is not.

What about Mike Zarren? He has reportedly turned down multiple GM jobs to stay with Ainge, then is looked over by a guy with 0% management at any level?

This is not going to end well, I am expecting massive upheaval.

Brad's official title, per Celtics Twitter, is President of Basketball Operations.  That was the exact title Ainge most recently had -- there was no one with the "General Manager" title, I believe.

Great move...next shoe to drop, Rondo Head Coach.

He has enough weight, 2 rings, he's a former Celtic, a PG mentality and they'll listen to him.

Ah okay, gotcha. I really hope Zarren still gets a bigger role in decision making than before.
