Stevens has been described as worn down with coaching since The Bubble, and welcomed the chance to make the transition to the front office, sources tell ESPN. Stevens will help lead the search for his successor as head coach.

Any frontrunners for head coach? Billups?

Evan Turner? Lol, I kid

Unreal.  I'm not sure that giving the keys to the kingdom to a guy who is experiencing burnout (and who is underqualified) is in the team's best interests.

I've got to think that this is being done mostly due to money.  The team extended Brad, who has a lot of guaranteed salary left.  So, he gets moved up to a position he's not qualified for.

To be fair, he's been described as taking over basketball ops. We could very well still bring in an experienced GM for him to report to.

Terrible day for C's.

Kind of inclined to agree, but I'm excited to see our new head coach.

I'm pretty apprehensive.  What qualifications does Brad have to choose that coach?  His assistants left a lot to be desired.  If he can't get his own staff right, I'm pretty worried about who he will select as a head coach.

I can’t think of a good coach who’s available now. Does Brad look at the college ranks? I hope this sits well with JT and JB though. This is wild.

It was time for a shakeup but I question Brad leading the front office. I am unsure of what he has done to be qualified for this. Maybe he has been more involved behind the scenes than I know...at least I hope he has.

I think they need a players coach. Someone who has played in the league that the young guys will really look up to as a leader. Someone with passion for the Celtics wouldn’t hurt either.

President of Basketball Operations runs the show.   That's Danny's title.  Any new GM would be reporting to Brad, not vice versa.

While I applaud the need for an overhaul, keeping Stevens around, in any capacity, will not lead to anything good: the deck needs to be cleared.

Think I'm going in to my boss' office today and tell him I'm burned out with my gig and they should have me run the place. Will let you know how that goes
