Its gross that it turned out like this

And Nets likely will be good for the next 3 years. Too much talent to handle

Danny could have traded for Harden ... but didnt want to give up one of the Jays. Which is understandable

But right now.. the Celts look to be in that 4-5 seed range, fallen behind the top 3 in the standings

So close but always something cameup.... Lebron or Miami Heat bubble run ... Nets formation of big three

Where do the Celts go from here?

He stripped the nets then used one of the assets to trade for a lifelong Nets fan...he got played.

Some big changes need to be made otherwise we will be playing the part of ATL while the Nets pretend to be boston fromm 08-10.

This just shows how easy it is to win when you're a semi competent big market team.

True

Its just so tough... team was so close

Lockroom didnt get along... Brad had no clue how to make it work.  Team needed Rivers for that 2018 team

Danny won the trade.  Brooklyn won the player collusion opportunity

decades of incompetence don’t get reversed because three major all-stars fell in your lap. that team has talent but unmanageable ego, too. give ‘em time; they’ll screw it up.

This is the correct take.

Ainge still won that trade it’s what he did after that trade that made him a loser. Sat on all these so called assets that turned into a bunch of young players who haven’t contributed much since Ainge is horrible drafting in the teens.

Danny put together a championship-caliber roster that suffered injuries and a landmine in Irving.

Still. I have been a fan of Ainge’s and defended him. But it could be time for a new look (Zarren?) since it feels like the league and luck has turned on him. This is a big offseason and we need a GM who the league knows acts in good faith. Idk how Danny’s reputation is now.

Danny has been here long enough. I think over mall Ainge did a good job. What ultimately ended Ainge’s run IMO is putting all his eggs in the Kyrie basket and getting burned. He should go but He won’t.

Brooklyn is in second round for first time since more than a decade. We are off before 2d round for first time since 5 years... Still were in ECF 3 times on the last 5 and never miss the PO. We missed our 2,3 and 4 best players.
Nets havn't won anything yet. Maybe, and I really hope, Bucks beat them. Then I don't think they will laugh a lot with all the hype and there trust in themself. Durant will soon be 33 and if he is healthy for now his still managed all year which means there is fear for his health in Bkn. If Durant is off, Irving and Harden isn't a viable big 2.
So they still don't laugh before they have the title, and whatever it wouldn't be the last laugh, as the benefits of the trade are still in the begening of their careers. This is an overeaction after a loss against a better team 100% healthy when we were depleted...

The Nets are this good because their GM had the courage to mortgage their future (again) for Harden.  They'd still be good without Harden, but they wouldn't be as good.  Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger.  How much different does Boston look with Harden as top billing and Tatum as 2nd fiddle with Walker, Smart, Thompson, R. Williams, and maybe Theis, Teague, Nesmith, Langford, G. Williams, etc.  If Boston would have pulled the trigger on a Harden/Brown trade (with Boston sending some picks), not only is Boston is a lot better, but Brooklyn is a lot worse.  Plus, Boston still would have had the entire TPE to use for players (so like if Smart was included in the Harden trade, you could still have brought in Fournier).

There is a reason I wanted Harden.  Harden is a legit top 5 talent.  Add to him a top 15 talent in Tatum and a top 30 or so talent in Walker with 4 or 5 solid rotation players, and you have all of the makings of a championship team.  The team as currently constructed just doesn't have the top end talent you need to compete.  Harden would have changed that instantly.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic
