Brooklyn is in second round for first time since more than a decade. We are off before 2d round for first time since 5 years... Still were in ECF 3 times on the last 5 and never miss the PO. We missed our 2,3 and 4 best players.
Nets havn't won anything yet. Maybe, and I really hope, Bucks beat them. Then I don't think they will laugh a lot with all the hype and there trust in themself. Durant will soon be 33 and if he is healthy for now his still managed all year which means there is fear for his health in Bkn. If Durant is off, Irving and Harden isn't a viable big 2.
So they still don't laugh before they have the title, and whatever it wouldn't be the last laugh, as the benefits of the trade are still in the begening of their careers. This is an overeaction after a loss against a better team 100% healthy when we were depleted...

You can believe health was a factor

Wouldnt have made a difference. Maybe a little

The bench was too inexperienced

Brad did very little to grow their games. Constantly relying only on Jays, Walker, Smart

Nets flat out embarressed the Celts. 4 to 1. Its like they didnt even break a sweat except for one game

Where do the Celts go from here?
Well, if you wanted to cut bait on Brad, Kenny Atkinson is probably avaialble. He came in when the Nets had nothing and got the culture right. Supposedly he's known for making guys accountable.

Might be a start.

and you’re missing the bigger point. if the nets get handled by the bucks, it just means the c’s have a tougher road through the east in the years to come. danny’s current roster, including coaching staff, doesn’t have the talent or grit to win in the very talented east.

sure, the c’s were depleted in this series but they didn’t look much different against brooklyn than how they played most of the season.

Exactly

Celts only way out of this is... out aging

By the time Jays are 28... these guys will be irrelevant  or like a Jeff Green

That will be a long wait

Oh guys... I was also dispointed by our season. Healt, choices from Danny and CBS, players.... But I really think you overeact... Last year we swept Philly, watched their shows and forum asking for all heads, including Embid, who was seen as a men who couldn't be a leader and coudln't be complementary from Simmons (do you see a parallelle ? :) )... It was the end of time... Now they are in "the contenders".... With quiet little changed (+ coaching OK). We have to think about what we have to change... But lol comparing us to the Bulls... What is sure is that east may be competitive in the next years. I don't say it will be an easy pass. But Tatum-Brown is still a huge duo and we have some other promess and qualities in ou team. Don't overeact all. It was a nightmare year but we always wake up after a nightmare...

PS : and your answer just try to find the little quote that can entertain again in your depressing speach... This isn't something write with your brain but with your emotions.

I don't say we would have won.. But I say you can't all judge this serie because it has non sense and globally we wern't that bad; just one blowout, one good win and 2 matches where we wern't that far...

They are superior... Our season was bad for many reason... OK

But are you sure the Nets with a 5 of Brown-Jhonson-Shamet-Durant-Griffin would have won ag a 100% healthy C's team ? You can't take any global judgment about this serie... Just how our players and staff acted. But not judge them for this lost, which was not that horrible as we could thoudgt, even before knowing Kemba was out.

You know, funny enough, this series actually leaves me feeling strangely encouraged.

Lets look at the games in this series

Game 1:
Boston were without Brown - Celtics lost by 11 but it was much closer then that suggests.  Boston led for most of the game and were right in it up until maybe the last 4 or 5 minutes.  This was a winnable game.

Game 2:
Boston were without Brown and also lost Tatum for half the game.  In truth though they were garbage in this game - lost by 22 points and it was well deserved.

Game 3:
Boston were without Brown and R.Williams, Kemba played terrible, and they won by 6 - largely thanks to Tatum's 50, but Smart and Tristan Thompson also stepped up in a huge way.

Game 4:
Boston were without Brown, Kemba and R.Williams, Brooklyn's big 3 combined for 104 points, and Boston "only" lost by 15 points.  This really should have been a 30 point blowout considering the Celtics were basically missing 3 of their top 5 players.

Game 5:
Boston were without Brown, Kemba and R.Williams, Brooklyn's big 3 combined for 83 points, and Boston "only" lost by 14 points.   Again, this probably should have been a 25+ point blowout.

It might seem like an evaluation, but really think that if Boston had Brown, Tatum, Kemba and Williams healthy for this entire series then games 1, 3, 4 and 5 all would have been very winnable.  Even game 4, when the Nets played probably about as well they possibly could.

I know it's unrealistic to speculate about hypothetical, but I still find that kind of encouraging that if the Celtics top 4 guys were healthy through this series, it probably could just as easily be 4-1 to Boston right now.

How do you conclude that it would have made no / little difference?

Celtics were 0.500 overall at 36-36
They were 0.429 in games played without Brown (6-8)
They were 0.469 in games played without Kemba (15-17)
They were 0.250 in games played without Tatum (3-9)
They were 0.308 in games played without Robert Williams (8-26)

Seems like a significant impact to me considering all of those guys missed some time during this series.

* 5 games played without Brown
* 2 games played without Brown, Kemba or Williams
* 1 game played without Brown (where Tatum also missed roughly half the game)

Do better.

When someone dissects a bunch of games to that extend, you can't just answer with a straw man that leaves us to guess at what you're trying to say.

C'mon guys.
