Same; Jazz vs Nets finals, I reckon.

Utah is the real deal.

I hope that’s not the case because it’s a horrible matchup for Utah.

If Harden is available then the jazz have no one on the team who can guard him nor Durant and in that series someone like Gobert might not be even be playable.
I think it will be Jazz v Bucks. Which would be very interesting
Wonder what word Disney and ABC would use to describe a Milwaukee v Utah series? No GSW, no Lakers, no LeBron, only Giannis as a superstar, small local television markets playing/no large cities.

They can't be looking forward to that. The series could still pull of big ratings but the fear it won't is probably a major worry for ABC/ESPN/Disney right now.
I feel like narrative-wise the media would be really quite frustrated, but in terms of the quality of the games I think it would be very high level basketball, and a strong chance of going 7 games.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I’m sure the networks would want Lakers vs Nets but people will always watch the nba finals, the main issue for the league is the regular season. It’s too long and the players don’t care about it anymore and if the players don’t care why should the fans? IMO this is why the rating have dropped.

I have already lost interest in games because of the incompetent refs/league controlling the game, as well as the NBA being run by LeBron James. Lastly, superstars going everywhere forming superteams lol.

The games would be great, and I think the media would jump at the narrative of Giannis and his chance at a first title. He's a media darling and has mass international appeal.

This is legitimately an issue. And it's gonna cause me to stop watching for another 5 year stretch unless it gets better.

It's a shame.

They made it so easy to call games however they see fit. When everything's a foul, even the slightest touch, you get to pick and choose how you apply the rules. Like that charge call on Smart when Durant floored him. Was Smart moving? Sure was. Is he allowed to? Look, I dunno how you wanna defend if you're not allowed to move. Literally. Dunno how.

I think Luka has indirectly caused Dallas issues with what I call ‘The LeBron Effect’.

When teams draft a franchise rookie they usually have time to slowly build picking up more lottery talent along the way. But players like LeBron & Luka are elite win share producers from the offset. As a result, their team is pushed up into a winning position that the GM isn’t ready for. Without pre-hoarding other teams picks Cavs were never able to get the best young talent around LeBron and I think this could be the case with Luka.
Well it doesn't help that they blew the 9th pick the year before Luka (Dennis Smith) and to get Luka they traded a pick that would end up 10th (Cam Reddish). They then traded two future 1st's for the Zinger.  So they didn't help themselves in the young talent acquisition department.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Well said.  The disease is over control.  Kills the product.  The problem is not non calls.  Without non calls I'd never watch another game.  Thank God for non calls.  You hear me Tatum?  If you want your sport to have a nice product...expect that you're playing a contact sport and not every caress can be called.  The problem is phantom calls.  Been saying for a long time now.  If teams were given 10 challenges per game.  You'd see endless should-have-been non calls overturned, every single game...unless..of course...it's Durant and Smart are involved...

Imagine if they'd taken Mitchell or Bam instead of Dennis Smith Jr

Harden out for game 2.

Probs will play again in the series tho.

https://www.netsdaily.com/2021/6/6/22521728/steve-nash-definitely-hopeful-james-harden-will-heal-quickly-play-vs-bucks

If they win game 2 as well, this is over, and probably a sweep.

They aint sweeping the Bucks.
Its very plausible the Bucks was very rusty in G1 thats why they lost and couldbt take adv of Harden being out as they shot very uncharacteristically from three for a team that shoots decent to good from there.

Bucks will win G2 i guarantee it.
