but, but, but.... we have threads and posts galore that talk about what a waste he is. what mistake of a pick he is. how he will never be a good player in the nba!!!

what do we do now??????
But Bane hit a shot last night, we definitely should have taken him ::)

Nesmith has been my guy since day one also.  We knew he'd be able to nail shots, and while his body and athleticism have been good, his motor has been a really nice surprise.  I didn't know he'd be able to make so many hustle plays.  He's got a great future and I'm glad he wasn't included in a deadline deal.

I wanted Haliburton to fall to the Celtics on draft night. I really thought he would be the best player in this draft class when all was said and done. So far, it seems he could be.

But once Haliburton was gone, the guy I wanted was Nesmith. I loved his three point shooting stroke and thought it would translate to the NBA. I liked his size, length and athleticism. And once I read a couple stories about his work ethic and dedication to self improvement, that decided it for me. Ainge needed to take him. And he did.

I'm real happy with the pick. Aaron needed so time to adjust to the speed of the game and the system he was in. In a normal year, I would guess he would have gotten to that point much quicker than he has this year, but, the fact he is getting there is a good one.

By the end of next season I predict most fans here will have forgotten about their 2020 draft binkies and be supremely happy with Danny's 1st round picks this year.

For anybody who missed the game, that highlight reel is a great representation of why the kid is getting so much appreciation.

He’s been my guy all along.  I love watching him start to play more aggressively.

I can vouch for this.

Very entertaining performance by Nesmith last night. Dude gives 110% every time he touches the court.  I believe he will develop into a consistently good NBA player if given playing time. I could see him being a high impact player like Rob Williams.

Refreshing to see a guy that cares that much, really.   He played well.

Nesmith played outstanding,  like winning matters ...like he wants a job

Pritchard is.  Mr Hustle.  ......dude has grit

This is the type of help Brown and Tatum need ^

They can’t do everything , every game .....there is only one Bron

disappointed not seeing Romeo and Jabari

Let people get the celebrations of 1 good game out of their system, then get mad at Brad Stevens for playing him next game when he performs terribly. Or get mad at him for not playing Nesmith at all. Or just get mad at Brad tomorrow when there's not even a game on.

I dunno.

:]

No but seriously, we do over-react to literally everything a lot here - but this was an excellent, excellent game by Nessie.

It was a fun watch, and I hope to see more of it!

Why not celebrate potential.  Better then wallowing in squalor.

Yes it's one game but it's something to build upon.  It shows the effort and potential.  When he strings games together like PP we know were on to something.  The biggest key for Nesmith lately has been his confidence.  This potential was always there but he's finally confident his shot is going in.  With shooters this is so important.  Good for Nesmith and lets see some more!

You must have missed the memo. Wallowing in squalor is what we do here at CelticsStrong, especially in the game threads

Loved the hustle from him last night. I didn’t know he brought that kind of stuff to the table when he was drafted, but I’ll take it. He’s starting to seem like he can bring a bit of energy and grit as a supporting player like guys like Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder did. And thank god. I think Ainge needs to make it a priority to bring those types of guys to in, especially bigs. I thought Grant could be that for the team, but not seeming likely at this point.

Off topic, but occasionally I’ll miss a game.  It’s easy to tell if we lost:  lots of new threads, rage posts, etc.  This thread is one of the few threads to be created after a win, celebrating something.

I suppose that’s the weight of expectations. If JB goes for 40 and we win, I guess it’s just expected at this point.

That being the case, I hope this is a thread that gets bumped repeatedly

After all the negativity thrown at Aaron up until this past game, I decided to go back and look at our draft predictions before the Nov. draft.  Not surprisingly, I and Rikibellevie were the only members of this forum to correctly predict Nesmith would be drafted with our 14th pick.  Not a whole lot of interest in him before the draft although there was a lot of conversation about his 3-point shooting percentage.  I am pleased with his effort so far, although it has taken most of the season to show his skills. I think next year after an off season of training with lots of practice the Celtics will have an all around strong wing to complement the Js.

Also, I agree that Tommy would have loved Aaron, as well as Payton.
